Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun Hussain

Head of Department of Psychiatry; Rajshahi Medical College
Born on 4th March, 1962 in the city of Kushtia, Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun Hussain is currently the Head of Department of Psychiatry, Rajshahi Medical College. He was awarded the 'Kagoj Katha Shaitya' in 2004. He was also awarded the 'Banglar Pathshala - Akhtaruzzaman Elias' in 2011 for his novel 'Necropolis'. For all his contribution to the Bengali literature, he's been awarded the 'Bangla Academy Award 2017'. Some of his noted works are ' Rashtra Zantrer Kheladhula', 'Andhajoner Jatakkatha', 'Koyekjon Shamanyo Manush'.

Hasnain Heickal

Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka
Hasnain Heickal is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Department of CSE, University of Dhaka. He has been involved with ICPC since 2007. He was the judge at the ICPC Dhaka Regional since 2013. He worked as Judging Coordinator in ICPC Dhaka Regional for the last couple of years. Also been team leader and coach of the Bangladesh IOI team in 2014. He is a genius programmer who has inspired countless young coders to become outstanding problem solvers.

John Thorpe

Founder of Varendra Musical Arts Center
John Thorpe, an American music teacher living in Bangladesh, completed his B.S. in music education from the University of Maine. Arriving here in 1980, he studied Bengali language and culture. He has performed both Western classical piano and songs of Tagore at the Goethe Institute and Chayanath in Dhaka, in Rajshahi University and Shilpakola Academy and at the Rossini Club in his home area of Portland Maine. He has taught 15 years in American pubic and private schools. In Bangladesh, he teaches piano, violin, guitar at the Varendra Musical Arts Center, a school that he founded in 2012.

Mashiat Mowshin Hossain

Protection Officat For Women & Girls Co-Founder Of 12 Vaja
Mashiat Mowshin Hossain graduated from Asian University for Women on 12th May, 2018. It hasn’t yet been a year which is why she still considers herself a fresh graduate. Jokes apart, after her graduation she has been working as a Protection Officer for Women and Girls undertaken as a response to the Rohingya Refugee crisis at Danish Refugee Council. While she was in her fourth semester, she co-founded 12 Vaja; a platform created to form understanding between the gender conforming community and gender non-conforming community aka the Hijra community of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. In simpler words, the organization works to reintroduce and rehabilitate the hijra community into the mainstream society that pre-excludes them. This project changed her life; through helping she found her passion and mission in life. Also, it helped Mashiat to build unbreakable bonds with the hijra community and with the people who were always there to help and execute the projects.

Md. Shazzad Hosain

Associate Professor Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering North South University
Md. Shazzad Hosain is currently serving as Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, at North South University. He completed both his B.Sc. Eng. and M.Sc. Eng. in Computer Science Engineering from BUET. He then went on to pursue his PhD in Computer Science from the Wayne State University in Michigan, USA. This outstanding teacher is an irreproachable researcher as well. His research interests and areas of expertise include Mobile Application Development, Wireless and Web Applications Development, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Database and Information Systems, Software Engineering.

Nasreen Sultana Mitu

Cartoonist
Nasreen Sultana Mitu is a Bangladeshi cartoonist and science educator. She had been working as an assistant professor at the Institute of Education and Research, University of Rajshahi till October 2018. Ms. Mitu’s areas of expertise are the different aspects of science education. Being a professional cartoonist and illustrator, she recognizes the immense potential of cartoon as a medium of science communication. With a view to popularize Science beyond formal classrooms, In 2016, she started her own organization ‘Project Tiktaalik’; which aims to develop printed and web-based science learning materials in cartoon and comic format.

Nufile Ahmed

Student, Social Media Derived
Nufile is a third-year mechanical engineering undergrad.Nufile isn't using any social media for the last 4 years. He talks about the positive & negatice sides of using social media. In the future, he wants to be a distinguished researcher, do standup comedy, promote mental health among teenagers and win the war he waged on procrastination

Sheikh Ishtiaque

Lead Vocal, Shironamhin
In 20I2, Sheikh Ishtiaque started as a bassist and back vocal in a band named "Protiddhoni". In 2013 the band "Cry My Name" was formed and he started there as a vocal. Then in 2015, Bangladeshi legend, his hero ‘BassBaba Sumon’ offered him to do a single on a folk cover "Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi ". This was one of the best achievements of his life. Then a new chapter of his life started and it was with "Aconite". He gave the vocal for Aurthohin’s 7th album "Cancer er Nishikabbo" "Adbhut Shob Chele Gulor Golpo". And within this time he did a live program as a guest vocal with "Aurthohin" . Now he is working with his band "Aconite" ''Nonta Biskut'' “Shironamhin” and some fusion projects.

Sumit Kumar Karmoker

Co-Founder and Ex-Captain of Team Crack Platoon Motorsport Engineer, Vlogger & Filmmaker
Sumit Kumar Karmoker co-founded ‘Team Crack Platoon’ as the first ever Formula SAE team of Bangladesh in 2015. He along with his team designed an ATV and participated in “Quad Bike Design Challenge 2016”. Later in 2017 his team manufactured a formula style racing car and participated in “Student Formula Japan 2017”. He has been influencing youths of Bangladesh to do something different for a long time. He loves to share stories through his youtube videos. Currently he is working with his team on the development of an electric car.

Tareq Onu

Explorer, Hiker, Photoghrapher, Mountaineer and Writer
Tareq Onu is an explorer, hiker, photoghrapher, mountaineer and a writer. He's the first person from our country to have visited the North Pole (along with Enam Ul Haque) in 2007. He has done several expeditions in the Himalayas. He's also the only Bangladeshi to have ascended upon Mt. Blanc, the highest peak of the Alps. An accomplished writer with three books already under his belt- he also authored the first Bird-field guide in Bangla. Currently he is the vice-president of Bangladesh Bird Club and an activist working to conserve the natural ecosystem of Bangladesh.
