Do you remember when you were a child and looked to the night sky and believed the moon was following you?
Do you think at that time, you were aware of the existence of an infinite universe filled with celestial bodies you knew nothing about?
For centuries, people believed that light was made up of particles they called Corpuscles, then in the Renaissance they discovered that light was rather a wave. And finally, modern science proved that light is energy in the form of radiation that is part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we, humans, are only able to perceive a small fragment of. And Within this tiny fraction, lies all visible light that colours the entire world around us.
Through this evolution, you get to see mankind's literal search for the light. How we gradually discovered that it does not emit from the fire in our eyes lit by Aphrodite, but rather from the sun, and later came to a conclusion as to its real form.
This long journey was necessary to come to the bottom of something as abundant, visible and clear as light itself.
So just imagine the effort and will needed to discover the reality of something that you do not know even exists, something you can't see like the light? Imagine if you want to search for something that is obscure, hidden and opaque? Something you don't know is there.
Plato, in his allegory of the cave, tells the story of prisoners who lived their entire lives inside a cave, believing that the shadows cast by people and objects passing the cave are the true form of things in life. Until one day, one of the prisoners escaped the confines of the cave to the true reality of the world. And it dawned on him that his reality was merely a shadow of the one that existed outside of the cave; that his entire life, he lived in darkness unknowing of the existence of a world outside.
Just as we came to know what light is made of, and searched for the truth of the light, we should now search for the truth of the dark, the Opaque.
So now we must go away from the light
And into the darkness
Where we need to summon the courage
To venture and explore and discover
What lies within the opaque,
What has always remained unseen,
shielded by our unawareness of its existence
And bring it out to the light,
To unveil, to consider, and to accept
So lets start discovering our opacity

هل تتذكر عندما كنت طفلاً وتطلعت إلى سماء الليل واعتقدت أن القمر كان يتبعك؟
هل تعتقد في ذلك الوقت أنك كنت على علم بوجود عالم لا نهائي مليء بأجرام سماوية لا تعرف عنها شيئًا؟
لقرون ، اعتقد الناس أن الضوء كان يتكون من جزيئات أسموها الجسيمات ، ثم في عصر النهضة اكتشفوا أن الضوء كان بالأحرى موجة. وأخيرًا ، أثبت العلم الحديث أن الضوء طاقةتظهر في شكل إشعاع يشكل جزءًا من الطيف الكهرومغناطيسي الذي نحن ، البشر ، قادرون فقط على إدراك جزء صغير منه. وضمن هذا الجزء الصغير ، يكمن كل الضوء المرئي الذي يلون العالم بأسره من حولنا.

كانت هذه الرحلة الطويلة ضرورية للوصول إلى قاع شيء ما ، وفير وواضح كالضوء نفسه.
إذن ، فقط تخيل الجهد وستحتاج إلى اكتشاف حقيقة شيء لا تعرفه حتى ، وهو شيء لا يمكنك رؤيته كالضوء؟ تخيل إذا كنت ترغب في البحث عن شيء غامض ومخفي ومظلم؟ هناك شيء لا تعرفه.
كما روى أفلاطون ، في حكاية الكهف ، قصة السجناء الذين عاشوا حياتهم كلها داخل كهف ، معتقدين أن الظلال التي يلقيها الناس والأشياء التي تعبر الكهف هي الشكل الحقيقي للأشياء في الحياة. حتى يفي يوم واحد ، هرب أحد السجناء من حدود الكهف إلى الواقع الحقيقي للعالم. وبدا عليه أن واقعه كان مجرد ظل للذي وجد خارج الكهف. أن حياته كلها ، عاشها في الظلام دون معرفة وجود عالم في الخارج.
مثلما عرفنا ما هو الضوء ، وبحثنا عن حقيقة النور ، علينا الآن البحث عن حقيقة الظلام ، المعتم.
والآن يجب أن نبتعد عن الضوء
وفي الظلام
حيث نحتاج لاستدعاء الشجاعة
للمغامرة والاستكشاف واكتشاف
ما يكمن داخل المبهم ،
ما بقي دائما غير مرئي ،
ما دائما اخافنا من عدم معرفتنا بوجودها
وإخراجه للضوء ،
للكشف عن ، للنظر ، والقبول

Adam Abd ElGhaffar

Adam Abd ElGhaffar. A former Creative Director and visual Artist in the field of advertising for 7 years, and the founder of Studio Adam for Visual Arts & Design. Abd El Ghaffar’s art projects has been exhibited in Cairo, London, Beirut and Tunis. He started a career for Writing/Scriptwriting in 2012, publishing his first short stories collection “Plateau.” In addition to that, Abd El Ghaffar also directed few TV-Commercials. His first short film Fork and Knife - فيلم شوكة وسكينة starring Menna shalby, Asser Yassin and Eyad nassar won the first prize for short film script in Gouna International Film Festival 2017. آدم عبد الغفار مخرج مبدع و فنان بصري في مجال الإعلان لمدة 7 سنوات ، ومؤسس استوديو آدم للفنون البصرية والتصميم. تم عرض مشاريع لفن عبد الغفار في القاهرة ، لندن ، بيروت وتونس. بدأ مهنة الكتابة / التأليف في عام 2012 ، نشر أول مجموعة قصصه القصيرة "بلاتو" ، عبد الغفار أخرج بعض من الإعلانات التلفزيونية. "FORK & KNIFE" أخرج أدم أول فيلم قصير له من بطولة منة شلبي وآسر ياسين وإياد نصار و فاز بالجائزة الأولى عن افضل نص قصير في مهرجان الجونة السينمائي الدولي 2017.

Ali Zewail

Ali Zewail is the founder of Chaino. Chaino is a social network where people more deeply connect with their friends, family and interests. He is passionate about designing products that serve people's needs and improve their well-being. Before this, Ali's career has spanned experience in general management (at Raya), research (at Intel), software development, business development and marketing. He studied engineering as an under-graduate and got his business degree from Georgia State University as a Fulbright Scholar. Andrew Philip

Andrew Philip Graduated from Ain Shams University in 2012 – With a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering Andrew Joined P&G right out of college in the Product Supply Department. Andrew undertook a number of assignments through his 5 years career in P&G, all in Supply Chain Area; Starting as a Process Engineer for Pampers, followed by Site Integrated Planning Operations managing end to end Value Streams for Pampers as well. Andrew is now the MEA Process Automation Department Manager, and holds a seat on the global team for Supply Chain Transformation leading Integration of Machine Learning/AI Capabilities for P&G Supply Chains Globally. تخرج من جامعة عين شمس في عام 2012 - حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في هندسة الإلكترونيات والاتصالات انضم إلى شركة P&G بعد التخرج في قسم إدارة سلسله الامداد للمنتجات . تولى كثير من المهام خلال حياته المهنية في الخمس سنوات في شركة P&G ، كل ذلك في مجال إدارة سلسله الامداد؛ بدء العمل كمهندس عمليات لـ Pampers ، تليها عمليات التخطيط المتكامل. هو الان يتولي اداره ميكنه سلسله الامداد للشرق الأوسط و أفريقيا ، ويشغل مقعدًا في الفريق العالمي لتحويل سلسلة التوريد الرائدة في تكامل قدرات التعلم الآلي /و قدرات الذكاء الاصطناعي لسلاسل التوريد لشركة P&G على مستوى العالم.

Farida Salem

Farida Salem فريدة سالم is the Founder of Empower Football Academy. She graduated with a BA in Sport, Health, and Physical Education from Vancouver Island University. Salem is both a player and a coach with 13 years of playing experience at the highest level, and 8 years of coaching experience. Ingi's passion for acting,combined with her genuine motivation to empower and guide other women led her to the Drama Therapy path. She obtained her Masters degree in the Department of Creative Arts Therapies at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada). During the pursuit of her Master's degree, she developed a great interest in using Therapeutic Theatre as a mean of intervention. In the past six years, she directed and facilitated a couple of therapeutic performances among different population: immigrants and victims of domestic violence. In Montreal, she used to work at Auberge Transition, a shelter house for female victims of domestic violence. Ingi is now sharing her experience as a Drama Therapist within the Egyptian community through workshops, retreats, group and individual therapy. She offers workshops designed for organizational development, self-development and relationships issues. She specializes in workshops aiming at promoting awareness about the different types of abuse. Ingi follows the humanistic approach in her drama therapy interventions. Maged Farrag

Maged Farrag Creative and managing director - 5dVR. Farrag is a digital media evangelist, founded his first company Mega Media in 1994 to become Egypt’s leading multimedia service provider. His work extended to cover innovative use of technology in advertising, communication and cultural heritage documentation. He has received numerous advertising and content awards. In 2013 he co-founded Fifth Dimension–5d, a merger of 5 companies working in complementing aspects of digital and marketing domains to become a one stop digital marketing agency. Being the creative and innovation director of 5d, he introduced augmented reality applications, game development, hologram projection and Virtual Reality as well as many innovative digital installations. In 2016 he co-founded 5dVR, a company specialized in creating VR/AR content and solutions. He has published many papers and has made a lot of contributions to numerous international conferences focusing on using technology in cultural heritage documentation. He's also a founding member of the world association for protection of tangible cultural heritage during times of armed conflict; WATCH. Mahmoud Galal

Dr. Mahmoud Galal has a PhD in Mechanical Power Engineering from Benha University. He has been working in project management in Petrojet since 2004. He is an ECCIPP board member, along with being part of the technical committee inEgyps (2018-2019). He is also a technical reviewer at MEDFFORD Publisher in Canada. As part of his work, he has 6 publications in international journals and conferences such as ASME (جماعة المهندسين الأمريكيين) and AIAA (المعهد الأمريكي لعلوم الفضاء و الطيران). His dream to watch the world become a better, peaceful place ignited his desire to invent. Dr. Mahmoud has 5 patents from Japan, UAE, and Egypt for 3 different inventions. He has won both gold and silver medals for his ideas at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, Exhibition of Inventions in China, and the International Invention Fair in the Middle East. الدكتور محمود جلال الحاصل على درجة الدكتوراه في هندسة القوى الميكانيكية من جامعة بنها. يعمل في إدارة المشاريع في بتروجيت منذ عام 2004. وهو عضو مجلس إدارة ECCIPP ، إلى جانب كونه جزءًا من اللجنة الفنية في مؤتمر البترول في مصر (2018-2019). وهو أيضًا مراجع تقني في MEDFFORD Publisher في كندا. لديه 6 منشورات في المجلات والمؤتمرات الدولية مثل ASME (جماعة المهندسين الأمريكيين) و AIAA (المعهد الأمريكي لعلوم الفضاء و الطيران). حلمه ان يشاهد العالم مكانًا أفضل و هذا اشعل رغبته في الابتكار. الدكتور محمود لديه 5 براءات اختراع من اليابان والإمارات ومصر عن 3 اختراعات مختلفة. وقد حصل على ميداليات ذهبية وفضية لأفكاره في المعرض الدولي للاختراعات في جنيف ، ومعرض الاختراعات في الصين ، والمعرض الدولي للاختراعات في الشرق الأوسط.

Reham Elmasry

Reham Elmasry, is the Co- Founder and CEO of Furnwish, a dedicated entrepreneur who believes in innovation and exploring new horizons. Graduate of Business School, with a background in product management and business development, holding key positions in different multinational companies before founding Furnwish end of 2017. From a passion towards disruptive technologies and an enthusiasm for AR/VR & mixed reality, Furnwish was born. A tech company creating tools and advanced novel solutions through integrating immersive augmented reality (AR) and Artificial intelligence (AI). ريهام المصري ، هي احد مؤسسي والرئيسة التنفيذية لشركة Furnwish ، وهي سيدة أعمال تؤمن بالابتكار واستكشاف آفاق جديدة. تخرجت من كلية إدارة الأعمال بخلفية في إدارة المنتجات وتطوير الأعمال ، شغلت مناصب هامة في شركات عالمية مختلفة قبل تأسيس Furnwish في نهاية عام 2017. و من شغفها للتقنيات المطورة و حماسها تجاه الواقع الافتراضي و المعزز والواقع المختلط ، ظهرت Furnwish. شركة تقنيات تنشئ أدوات وحلول مبتكرة متطورة من خلال دمج الواقع المعزز (AR) والذكاء الاصطناعي.

Riham Mohsen

Riham is passionate about self-esteem and she is a self-love enthusiast who is making a positive impact in the lives of girls and women. Since her graduation, she has been working in the marketing field for 20 years in one of the largest FMCG companies in Egypt. In the last 7 years ,she has attended many workshops, seminars and courses about Self-improvement, self-awareness and self-love. Her objective is to share her personal experience in lack of self-love and how she got over it.
