At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dnyaneshwar Bodke

Mr. Dnyaneshwar Bodke is a progressive farmer. He developed & established The System of "Integrated Organic farming & Direct marketing" of Vegetables & Gir Gau (Cow) Milk. He is a gentle, brave and caring person. He spends most of his time educating, encouraging and elevating the farmers. He and his family members work in harmony as per the model created by him.

Dr. Binish Desai

Dr Binish Desai famously known as the Recycle man of India is an inventor and social entrepreneur He is founder of Eco Eclectic Technologies and has been working with zero waste technologies since age 11. His works have helped him convert 850 tonnes of waste into more than 150 products. He comes from a small town of Valsad in Gujarat and at age 25 he has been named in Forbes 30 Under 30 list of most successful social entrepreneurs in Asia. His company Eco Lights studio is helping rural women get employment by training them to convert waste into beautiful pieces of decor. A book titled “ The recycle man” is being written on his life and works and is due to publish in January 2019.

Gitanjali Rao

Gitanjali Rao is 13 years old and was named America’s Top Young Scientist of 2017 by the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge with a device to detect lead in water faster than any other current techniques. She was selected as the youngest Forbes 30 under 30 2019 in the science category. She is an active STEM promoter and is involved in promoting STEM based activities in schools, clubs and the community. Gitanjali is an active volunteer for an organization called Children’s Kindness Network that spreads an anti-bullying message, and promotes the importance of kindness in all of us, while conducting workshops in elementary schools and hopes to educate children about kindness and solving problems. When she grows up, Gitanjali aspires to study genetics and epidemiology in MIT. Gitanjali hopes to keep writing, discovering, and sharing her knowledge in the future.

Govindraj Ethiraj

Govindraj is a television & print journalist and founder of Boom, a fact-checking initiative. He anchors seasonal shows on Indian news television--the current one being Aegons of Business on Bloomberg Quint, and the most recent being Policy Watch on public service broadcaster Rajya Sabha TV. He also writes for newspapers such as Business Standard. Previously, Govindraj was Founder-Editor in Chief of Bloomberg TV India. Prior to that, he worked with Business Standard as Editor (New Media) with a specific mandate of integrating the newspaper’s news operations with its digital or web platform. He also spent around five years each with CNBC-TV18 and The Economic Times. He is a Fellow of The Aspen Institute, Colorado, and a winner of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leadership Award for 2014 and the 2018 McNulty Prize.

HAAZIQ KAZI

Haaziq Kazi is a 12 year old from Pune who believes he can help the oceans get rid of the plastic debt that we humans have accumulated through his ship ERVIS. The plastic pollution in ocean is a huge challenge which is affection 60% of marine life and killing over a million birds and 100,000 marine animals annually. Haaziq believes through his invention he can create a platform through ERVIS the ship for like minded people to collaborate and work innovatively which will go and clean the oceans of floating plastic trash.He wants ERVIS to be sustainable and not add to the ocean waste problem. Haaziq loves talking about the ocean problem and creating awareness about it. He also likes to code, play games and chill out. Haaziq is a big fan of Elon Musk who has shown how one can bring in disruption through belief and passion in areas like urban transportation, space travel and sustainability.

Harssh A Poddar

Harssh represents the new-age model of a police officer. He is an Oxford-educated lawyer who left a corporate career in London to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). His revolutionary work changes the perception of citizens towards the police through large scale initiatives such as youth empowerment to combat terror, career counselling for adolescents, prevention of mob violence and transforming rural police stations into people-friendly institutions.

Levon Biss

Levon Biss is a British artist specialising in extreme macro photography. His complex photographic process explores the microscopic world in fine detail, providing a unique perspective of insects. Levon’s images make the invisible visible and provide his audience with an unexpected view of the tiny creatures we share the planet with. His photography has been exhibited throughout the world and is in held in numerous personal and museum collections.

Maati Baani

Maati Baani’s sound is a mix of India’s rare folklore and classical music with the blend of funk and blues. Nirali’s Hindustani roots and Kartik’s nomadic vision has given the bands its distinct folk-pop sound. Maati Baani consists of Hindustani vocalist Nirali Kartik and award-winning Composer/Music producer Kartik Shah. Together both Nirali and Kartik have collaborated with more than 200 musicians across the globe from 30 countries The core of their sound is rooted in Indian Classical and Indian Folk They are amongst the first group to collaborate with musicians over the internet.

He has been a recipient of the Architectural Review's commendation for the Emerging Architecture Award as well as has received MARMOMACC Architecture in Stone prize in Verona, Italy. His innovative Maya Somaiya library was shortlisted as one of the 6 best Libraries globally by the AR London.

Seema Bansal

Seema Bansal is passionate about large scale systems reforms. She brings this passion to bear in her role as the Director of the Social Impact practice in BCG. Seema has been working with the leaderships of Central and State Governments, Foundations and NGOs on reforms in development sectors such as education, public health, food security etc. over the last decade. Currently she and her team are working with 2.5lakh schools and 3cr kids to improve the quality of education.

Shabana Basij-Rasikh

Shabana is the co-founder and president of the School of Leadership, Afghanistan (SOLA), Afghanistan's first and only boarding school for girls. SOLA's mission is to provide an educational experience unlike any other in the nation, bringing together girls from all across Afghanistan and providing them a safe, secure environment in which to learn, so that they may grow to become their country's next generation of leaders. Shabana is a graduate of Middlebury College in the USA; holds an honorary doctorate from SOAS University of London; and is a global ambassador for Girl Rising, a call to action seeking investment in girls' education worldwide. In 2018, she was awarded the Malalai Medal, one of Afghanistan's highest civilian national honors, for her work in advancing girls' access to education.

Shahnaaz Khan

Shahnaaz Khan studies how identities shape conflicts and ways in which diverse countries can ensure peaceful co- existence. She has worked with survivors and victim families of hate crimes, researching the phenomenon and its effects. She is an educator working towards bringing conversations on identity in the classroom towards raising accepting and tolerant citizens.

Shantha Rau Barriga

Human Rights Activist
Shantha Rau Barriga is an expert in international disability rights and has documented human rights abuses against people with disabilities in more than a dozen countries around the world. She is the founding director of the disability rights division at Human Rights Watch, leading research and advocacy to bring the voices of people with disabilities to policymakers and the media, in partnership with organizations of people with disabilities. This work has lead to concrete changes in policies and perceptions. In particular, she has documented the shackling of people with psychosocial disabilities, denial of education for children with disabilities, violence against women and girls with disabilities, the institutionalization of children and adults with disabilities, and the neglect of people with disabilities in humanitarian emergencies.

Suresh Prabhu

Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu is an Indian politician and currently serving as the Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation under the Modi government. He is credited with championing and enacting The Electricity Act, 2003 and the reforms that created securitization of dues from the states. He was also elected a member of the World Bank parliamentary network and chaired the South Asia Water regional group of the World Bank. He was Awarded 'Indian of the Year 2017 and Asia week has rated him as one of three future leaders of India.
