In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Christina Araya De Witte

Christina is een 22-jarige illustratrice en cartooniste. Ze houdt van sterke koffie, dutjes en vreemde combinaties.

Geertrui Mieke De Ketelaere

Mieke De Ketelaere holds a master degree in civil and industrial engineering and specialized on robotics and artificial during her studies 25 years ago. In her career, she has worked for several multinationals on all aspects of data and analytics. With her understanding of digital data streams and big data platforms, Mieke is often requested as a public speaker on digitalization and AI. Her main efforts go into the demystification of the hype around AI.

Iris Van Hoof

Iris Van Hoof is al een mediamens sinds 2001. Als kind stond ze al dolgraag op een podium. Na enkele mislukte ingangsexamens om actrice te worden, startte ze met universitaire studies Psychologie. Na haar studententijd deed ze mee aan de talentenjacht Popstars en zong zich daarna een weg door showbizzland met de popgroep Vandavanda. Ze presenteerde voor VT4 enkele Tv-programma’s en later kwam er ook radio bij. Eerst bij FMBrussel en daarna stapte ze over Radio 2. Daar is ze nu nog steeds presentatrice. Praten, spreken, babbelen, zingen, als er een publiek luistert, is ze in haar element.

Katja Schipperheijn

Katja Schipperheijn is a social entrepreneur, researcher, author and keynote speaker on learning and working in the digital society. Inspired by more that 5000 children in workshops, she founded a not for profit in 2017. The organisation supports schools, teachers and parents in their digital journey. Her recent book "Digitale Burgertjes" is a guide for teachers and parents to take a positive attitude toward online media and technology.

Mattias Losoli

Mattias Losoli (22 jaar) is een enthousiaste, energieke en talentvolle student-ondernemer. Hij combineert zijn master burgerlijk ingenieur in de chemie met zijn passie voor sociaal ondernemen. Mattias werd verkozen tot "CEO for One Month”, waardoor hij gedurende één maand het klankbord werd van de CEO van The Adecco Group. Zelf omschrijft hij zijn leven met 3 P’s: Positive, Passion & Perseverance!

Sophie Vangheel

Sophie Vangheel, a nurse by training, always wanted to help people. After a trip to Haiti in 1989, Sophie decided that she was able to and wanted to do more. “I had never visited a Third World country before and the extreme poverty made a deep impression on me. When I got back home, I promised myself to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged people."
