In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

At the TedX PICT he is going to be speaking about the journey of Thayirsadam Blues so far , how to bring about a work and music balance , address some important issues that artists are facing in the industry currently , and last but not the least his love for Thayirsadam.

Sloppy, lazy and unhealthy are some qualitites that certainly DO NOT describe Parag. At the age of 14, Parag was diagnosed with a kidney disease which demanded the intake of steroids. As side effects of treatment, Parag underwent a massive gain in weight, suffered from acne all over his body, had slower wound healing and bone thinning. Even the smallest of physical tasks would take a toll on him. But with sheer determination, Parag propelled himself and today, he is a fitness motivator and a regular marathon runner who recently ran his first full marathon (42.2 km). At TEDxPICT, Parag will uncover his arduous journey to overcome his condition, to become a source of inspiration for many.

Prasan Wilfred

Mr. Wilfred is the Founder and ex-Director of The Genius, based in Indore. The Genius started off as a small group of children of varied ages, visiting Mr. Wilfred's house to solve puzzles, read books and have discussions. Mr. Wilfred or "Uncle" as he's fondly known; aims to celebrate the learning process of a child via recreational activities. He firmly believes in the process of self-learning and emphasises on the importance of teaching children soft skills from a young age. At TEDxPICT, Mr. Wilfred will highlight the importance of critical thinking skills and intelligence and how these can be honed using innovative activities from a young age.

Simran Suri

Simran Suri is not your average 21 year old. She is the Co-founder of a Chai based tech startup and a part of The Global Shapers, an initiative by the World Economic Forum (WEF) which aims to improve the state of local communities. Having started working at the age of 17, Simran would do as many internships as possible to get valuable work experience. Not satisfied with just this, she started volunteering at NGOs, alongside her graduation of course. At TEDxPICT, Simran will be addressing the importance of identifying opportunities in our lives and how one must have the drive to seize them.

Suresh Dol

"Those who have nothing to lose are born winners." This isn't just a fancy saying for Mr. Suresh Dol, but a dogma by which he has lived his life. Belonging to an economically challenged background, he lost his father at the age of two. Throughout his life, he has faced hurdles in availing opportunities for his education. His passion for engineering led to him training at the ITI, before becoming a trainee at a major electronics company. And little did he know that this was the start of a meteoric rise, culminating with him running a company worth hundreds of crores. At TEDxPICT, Mr.Dol will talk about his fundamental belief in the values of dedication, sincerity and courage to face problems head on, while recounting the personal experiences that made him what he is today.

Virendra Valsangkar graduated as a Civil Engineer but turned to Filmmaking due to his passion for the medium. In 2012 he was awarded the prestigious National Film Award for directing 'Vishnupant Damle: The Unsung hero of Talkies', a biopic. As he quotes, films have the power to change perspectives, cultivate ideas and lead people to their purpose. Artists lose themselves in their own art, making it the sole endeavour of their lives. At TEDxPICT, Virendra Valsangkar will descibe the journey of an artist to fulfill this quest to attain a certain transcendence through their art.
