Theme: SHEROIZM

TEDxJaffaWomen brings the power of women and girls to center stage. It is the sixth (!) event held under the license of TEDxJaffa, and the largest TEDxWomen event ever to be held in Israel. TEDxJaffaWomen is one of over 140 TEDxWomen events that happen in the same week all over the world

The theme of our event is SHEROIZM.
We invented this word because HEROISM presents the strength of men (HE) and we couldn't find an existed word that holds the qualities of the feminine power. We define this power by using the letter Z -- as in WAZE, because we are still looking for the right way to access SHEROIZM.
The speakers, hand picked from an extraordinary group of candidates, will present SHEROIZM in various fields such as finance, architecture, literature, sport, music, and many others!
The event will take place on 4 December 2018 at 17:00 at The Israeli Opera Tel-Aviv-Jaffa. In addition to the fascinating talks, the event will include art performances, delicious appetizers and a unique networking opportunity with top people in various industries - as well as additional delightful surprises!

Anna Lukatsky

Fashion designer

A fashion designer and Owner of AnnA. Besides designing women's clothing, Anna is engaged in creating a social change so that every women can accept and love their body regardless size and/or age. Anna designs clothes for every woman of any age and any size, so it was no coincidence that she won the Woman of the Year award in fashion by Saloona. In 2013, Anna won a business contest, to star in media commercials. She later used her professional encounters with women as a tool to unite plus size and skinny women, and allow women to make peace with their own bodies. Her 2016 swimsuit campaign got 800,000 views on social media. 160 women of various kinds of beauty were photographed. That year she was keynote speaker in a conference of leading women in Israel. 2017 TLV fashion week was the first ever to walk women sizes 34-50, ages 17-70, down the same runway in AnnA's collection.

Aveva Dese

Singer & Songwriter

AvevA is an Ethiopian-Israeli singer and songwriter, a rising star in the Israeli music scene. Her music fuses traditional Ethiopian sounds & groove with her soul-pop songs, producing an aesthetic with universal appeal. Aveva sings powerfully in English and Amharic about society, freedom and love. With a kicking beat combined with Aveva’s beautiful voice and charm, audiences are lifted to their feet in dance.

Michal Ziso

Architect

Michal Ziso is the Founder/CEO of ZISO, an architecture firm set to combine innovation with human rights and equality ideas; and Mars is More, a social venture that promotes sharing ideas to create a movement of thought leaders who impact our future. Michal is a visionary architect practicing for almost a decade in Israel and NYC, specializing in skyscrapers and urban renewal projects. A proud activist and avid traveller, Michal is inspired by cultures, diversity, and the various ways people use space on earth and beyond. She strives to create positive change in how diverse groups and women in particular experience the built environment and to challenge the status quo of gender based roles in society.

Nader Butto

Cardiologist

Dr. Nader Butto is a physician, a senior cardiologist and a healer of the soul. He has emphasized the importance of the spiritual aspect and has been drawn towards holistic medicine. His method, called Unified Universal Theory, is based on seven universal principle and unifies physical, energetic and spiritual realms in one single theory. In his clinic, he treats a wide spectrum of disorders which are considered incurable using conventional medicine. He developed a new diagnostic method based on the seventh Sense as extra censorial perception by which he can find the direct relationship between the emotional crises, energetic blockages and physical illness. He has developed new therapeutic methods that combines the three different aspects of the human being: psyche, soul, and body that are FEEL, TTRT and Energy Emotion Wash-out. Dr. Butto gives lectures and workshops to psychologists, physicians, and therapists all over the world, and published books in Hebrew, Italian and English.

Nataly Dvir is a creator of a contemporary ethnic dance. Multidisciplinary artist who integrates video art, dance and puppet theater.

Noga Levzion Nadan

Founder and CEO of Greeneye

Noga Levtzion-Nadan is the founding partner and CEO of Value squared - Israel's leading responsible investment firm; and the funder of Greeneye ESG consulting. Noga was awarded the 2016 Green Globe Award for "ground-breaking advances in the field of responsible investment in Israel." Noga has rich experience leading change in Israel's ESG arena, working with the government, NGOs, and the financial and business sectors. She holds a Master’s degree from the LSE and a BSc from the Technion.

Rinat Sherzer

Social Entrepreneur & Professor

With her background as a Biotech Engineer and Experience Designer, Social Entrepreneur Rinat Sherzer guides Fortune 500 companies develop solutions that drive a positive impact. She founded Of Course Global, a company that helps businesses enhance their creativity and innovation by implementing tools and frameworks inspired by science, biology and the forgotten wisdom of the female body. Rinat lectures at Cornell, Parsons, Columbia University and SVA and mentors women around the world, helping them reclaim their power.

Roukaya Almougrabi

Powerlifting

Roukaya is a mother of 3 residing in Jaffa, and until recently did not engage in sports at all. Due to an accident a few years ago she became disabled and bound to a wheelchair. In her fascinating lecture she will reveal how, against all odds and medical statistics, she rehabilitated herself through sports, and today is the 2018 world powerlifting champion in category 75 sq ra!

Shoshi Jambar

Quality Assurance Manager

Shoshi's journey to management in one of Israel's leading hi-tech companies is a story of how anyone can achieve the improbable. In 2015 she entered the workforce by cleaning offices, and today she is leading a team as WalkMe's Mobile Operations Manager. Her story has been featured in The Marker and on Israel's Channel 10. She has given lectures at leading hi-tech companies like Google, for the diplomatic community including at the Embassy of Gibraltar, and recently was a featured speaker at TEDxTel Aviv. Shoshi volunteers her time with Parliament51, mentoring groups of under-privileged children, and with several Municipalities doing outreach in low income communities. Ultimately, Shoshi's mission is to inspire others and show how nothing is impossible if one believes in themself. Shoshi is a single mother of two beautiful children and her dog Jon Snow. Tal Breier Ben Moha

Author

Author, organizational consultant and activist. Founded the “Manhiguta” organization. The Facebook group that she founded, which is called “equal literature”, was chosen by Facebook as one of the 13 most significant groups in Israel! In her lecture, Tal will present surprising examples and show how children’s books influence the gender thinking of our small children for many years to come. She will reveal studies that will leave you amazed and will provide simple and definite tools, which will enable you to evaluate every book in new, critical eyes. After being expose to the amazing data provided by Tal, you will think twice about what you read to your love ones.

Tal Tenne Czaczkes

Entrepreneur, conceptual artist and inventor

Entrepreneur, conceptual artist and inventor. Married with 4 kids. Graduate and former lecturer in the visual communications department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. During her studies, she received an honors scholarship for a semester of studies at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her works have been exhibited at the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum, Rabin Square and various galleries throughout Israel. In the summer of 2018, she presented "Toyizm" - an exhibition she initiated, curated and exhibited at the Holon Arts Center. In her works, lectures and workshops, Czaczkes uses old objects and toys, disassembles and reconstructs images and fantasy worlds, allowing her and everyone to connect with their inner child.

Yael Deckelbaum

Singer, songwriter and social activist

Yael Deckelbaum, is an award- winning Israeli/ Canadian singer/songwriter and activist. Her song, “Prayer Of The Mothers,” went viral on social media in 2017. Shared by millions, the video shows thousands of Israeli and Palestinian women marching together and inspired women across the globe to unite and take action. As a groundbreaking musical activist, Yael has recently led various women’s marches in over 10 different countries and performed all over the world. Inspired by the international women’s movements, Yael wrote more songs and formed “Yael & The Mothers”, an ensemble of twelve talented female musicians from secular, religious, Arabic, and Jewish backgrounds. The group’s debut album, “Women of the World Unite" features singers such as Joss Stone, Zap Mama, Amyra León and more…
