TEDxYouth@PWHS is an event that features Plymouth Whitemarsh High School students and gives them a platform to spread their knowledge to the community. Arielle will discuss the instigators for the emergence of helicopter parenting, the behaviors that characterize helicopter parenting, and the negative impacts that can arise from such a type of parenting.

Safety equipment for some common sports such as football and martial arts may not be all it’s cracked up to be. It may even be making teens less safe.

With physical challenges come social challenges as well; people who utilize a walker, wheelchair, or assistive device are often seen as less competent based on their outer appearances. Although society continuously promotes courteous treatment toward all, kindness does not always signify equality. In her talk, "The Equality Alternative", Fiona Dow will discuss her experiences as a physically differently-abled student and how they have shaped her into the person she is today.

Jason’s talk is a story about living with mental illness. He defines and expresses the hardships faced by him and others and discusses the ways he wishes the school community can work with him to better deal with this issue.

With more and more Americans traveling near and far to what extent does an individual have a responsibility to represent their home? In this talk Kendra Tse discusses her experiences abroad and how she came to understand the power of citizen diplomacy.
