TEDxYouth@Shahiguzargah is one form of innovation that will be bringing here to Lahore. It is a Youth Style Event, with a theme, “Jawanon ko Peeron ka Ustad Kar” solely aimed to inspire the young by walking them through the aureole of history within the realm of possibility, in the glorious city of Lahore. Both haunted by war and enmeshed with fetching examples of historical allure, our Youth Style TEDx event will help youngsters have a clearer picture of their past to recreate their future. Our aim is to make youth to evaluate what was significant about selected events, people, and developments in their past and predict the future and help in creating it. Our talks are not only concerned with the glories and darkness of our past but also revolve around modern day perspectives.

Aisha Amjad

Aisha Amjad Ali is an educationist, teaching at Superior University. Being an avid reader, she could not only transform her life, but also strives to inculcate reading habits among the students, inside as well as outside her working environment! Aisha has presented a number of research papers in different conferences related to reading and language acquisition. In an endeavor to indue reading habits in people, the very passionate English Language instructor, Aisha, has been organizing and running a reading club. These days, she is sharing the idea of running effective reading clubs in different schools, colleges and universities.

Amara Sikandar

Artist
With an MFA in Visual Communication, our speaker, Amara Sikandar is an illustrator, a graphic designer and a street photographer! Exploring the concepts of vulnerability, identity, anxiety, repression, and freedom, Amara heavily focuses on symbolism and the human form in her artworks to create a sense of fluidity, density to revivify form. Currently working on a women empowerment series, Amara believes that empowerment is something that needs to be propagated, with a same definition for all genders, empowering humanity with sanity & respect is crucial.

Asim Lodhi

A Punjabi language poet, Mr. Aasim H Lodhi is a lecturer of English at Government College University, Lahore! With a very keen & formidable interest in the indigenous cultures and languages of South Asia, Mr. Aasim is running a Society of Culture and Heritage at GCU, Lahore. He staunchly believes in promoting native languages and literature, in the global world. Through his poetry in Punjabi language, he wishes to convey a message of homogenization in societies by accepting the vicissitudes and embracing the candor of cultures and traditions.

Hanan Tariq

EI Expert
Hannan Tariq, is one of the very few passionate souls who are on a mission of EMPOWERING individuals and companies to deliver at their best. Hannan has a strong belief that “Mindset” optimization is the key of CHANGE which can turn things around! A telecom engineer by profession and a certified trainer by choice, apart from his BS. Electronics and Communication, Hannan Tariq also holds multiple certifications and online program accomplishments through different international universities. He is also working as an instructor for a well known educational organization UDEMY. Hannan’s major work is on Emotional intelligence (EI). EI is declared as one of the mandatory skill set required by World Economic Forum. Hannan has given successful in house trainings on the said topic and has developed his own course on EI which is LIVE for global students at UDEMY!

Huma Mobin

A workaholic mother now, Huma Mobin is the girl who went alone on a honeymoon and made history! Having amazingly gone viral, Huma met the two sides of the story of social media during her out of the box endeavor. From having to combat trolls, cyber bullies and hate mongers to getting all loved up, she witnessed a unique social media outpouring on her personal journey. Huma is a believer of having freedom for living one's dreams and she adheres to a life philosophy of living and let living.

Owais Mumtaz

Owais Mumtaz, is a young law practitioner, writer, debater, and a peace promoter! Currently working as a Law Intern at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Owais has various awards to his name for his success in moot competitions and different debating championships. Possessing an exquisite taste for poetry and history amalgamated with an inquisitive and creative mind, he can make discussions interesting and very friendly. Our young speaker has also published his paper in an Indian Journal, written for the promotion of peace in South Asia.

Raj Kumar

Peace and Social Activist
Raj Kumar Gujar from Tharparkar, is the first Pakistani to win the prestigious Emerging Young Leader Award, conferred by the US State Department, Washington! An advisor at UN Women, Project Head at District Women Action Forum and Former Program & Communication Manager at Women Through Film, Raj was also awarded the Best Achievement of 2017 by the Government of Sindh. He has also represented Pakistan on multiple international forums, including the South Asian Youth Society, 10th Global Peace Festival in India and Harvard University, Boston. After completion of his degree in Business Administration from SZABIST, Raj Kumar has established a school for underprivileged children. His exemplary efforts have earned him the title of Ambassador of Peace aka ‘OderoLal Peace Award’. With several reputed accolades to his name, Raj is currently working dexterously with the Thar Foundation and also looks after SMEs portfolio, promoting entrepreneurship among locals especially the Thari Women.

TASVEER SAAZ MIME HOUSE

TASVEER SAAZ MIME HOUSE- a group of mime artists from the college of art and design, Punjab University- architects by profession and mime artists by passion. They are working since 2016 with main focus on mimes. They believe mime is much of a stronger medium to convey a message either positive or negative to the society comprising of people of every mindset.

Wajahat Ali

With a bachelors in Architecture from NCA Lahore, masters of Architecture from University of Nottingham, UK and Masters in Cultural Economics from University of Turin, Italy, our vigilantly creative speaker Wajahat has a 17 years experience with AKCS-P, and is currently leading AKCS-P Lahore Fort team on the Shah Burj project- conservation of the Picture Wall, Summer Palace and promotion of tourism! He is the first conservation architect in Gilgit-Baltistan to have worked on Altit Fort, Shigar Fort and then Khaplu Palace. Wajahat Ali also worked on Shahi Hammam and Wazir Khan Mosque, in the Walled City of Lahore.He has presented research papers on heritage conservation nationally and internationally and has been a recipient of international awards for his involvement in heritage conservation for AKCS-P’s GB & Lahore projects. He is also affiliated with ICOMOS Pak and WHITRAP China as an Observer for Pakistan. Our speaker is a dynamically trained professional who believes in the power of histories in inspiring human generations.
