In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Martijn Visser

Martijn has just graduated as a biologist from Wageningen University. He has always been very active in conservation efforts. Two years ago, he was elected as the Dutch UN Youth Representative and has participated on behalf of young people on many official UN occasions around the world. This way he experienced firsthand how young people blend into a senior world as the United Nations. In his TED Talk Martijn shares his ideas on speeding up the sustainable transition! “I don’t want to talk about resources of which we using too much, but about a resource that we are using far too little if we want to speed up the transition towards a sustainable world!”

Thomas Luttikhold

Thomas is the worlds' first wastewatcher: Someone who helps to reduce foodwaste using new and valueable insights. This profession only exists from 2013. With his company Wastewatchers he helps restaurants, hospitals, hotels and governments to solve the puzzle of foodwaste. How to fix such a big problem? What are the ingredients for success?
