Theme: What Next?

Our chosen theme is "What Next". The theme was chosen to illustrate the endless possibilities of the future whilst emphasising the importance of the youth in spearheading the advancement of society, and in the progression of creating innovating ideas arising from pre-existing ones to carry forth a more optimistic and opportunistic outlook in the midst of the turmoil surrounding the world in the present day. We are looking for speakers to share interesting or unconventional ideas pertaining to our theme, that would be able to spark stimulating conversations to make lasting impressions.

Amrita Soon

Singer, Song Writer

Amrita Soon is a singer and songwriter from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She started creating music as a way to drift out from the chaos of life. In 2013, Amrita was named the 'Breakthrough YouTube Star' award at DIGI’s WWWOW Awards, and has since then performed extensively in Malaysia. She also travelled to Nashville, Tennessee where she was featured at various songwriter nights and performed her original songs alongside the likes of Ella Mae Bowen and Lance Carpenter. She released her first EP ‘Clues’ in 2014 and was awarded the 'Audience Choice' and 'Overall Best Performance' at Short + Sweet 2016 organised by KLPAC. Amrita is currently working with pH Music on her new album. She recently released 3 new songs: ’24 Years’, ‘Midnight in Paris’ and ‘Familiar Strangers’.

Charmaine Chew

Model, Content Creator, Student

Charmaine recently joined Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 and was soon scouted as a professional model. At the age of 21, she left her beauty queen days behind her and kickstarted her modeling career. Since then, she has appeared on fashion magazines, billboards, working with international brands such as Estee Lauder, Yves Saint Laurent, Sephora and Zalora. She is also a full-time straight A student double majoring in Public Relations and Events Management. At the peak of her career was where she realized her bigger purpose in life and is committed to raising awareness for mental health and empowering young people by sharing her personal journey.

Harsha Ravindran

Founding Member of Ascendance , Social Entrepreneur

Harsha is a 16 year old social entrepreneur, international conference speaker, trainer, youth influencer, musician and student, *and is one of the founding members of the nationwide youth empowerment organization, Ascendance*. She began her entrepreneurial journey at age 11 with the aim of solving world problems at large starting at everyday scale. To date she has spoken at several international conferences, representing the views of the younger generation and sharing about how everyday people can play a part in solving world problems; most notably at the Global Social Business Summit in the Philippines, as well as being a key-note speaker at the ASEAN Summit for Shared Prosperity and Solidarity and the International Association of Volunteer Efforts (IAVE) Conference.

Justin Yap Zi Xian

Executive Chef

ustin sold his life to a knife at the tender age of 14 at a local restaurant called Mizu during school holidays working as a "Kitchen Aid" on maximum setting. Soon, He found out that he loved the nature of the seemingly bad ass trait a chef has, I mean you play with knives and burn things. From there he pursued his culinary education at Taylor's University, then pursued his Food Science at the C.I.A (Culinary Institute of America). While in America, he has trained & stage under several Michelin starred restaurant such as Le Bernardin, Alinea and Eleven Madison Park. Chef Justin Core abilities are Modernist Cuisine and Fusion dining...not writing biographies. He believes that if you truly understand your ingredients, you will have more room to manipulate the final result you want. No matter what type of cuisine, you will be able to put it at your fingertips. Justin is currently R&D Manager / Executive Chef of Momentz Restaurant & Bar.

Li Kim Phng

Author, TV show host

One word that best describes Li Kim is ‘Vivacious’. Always one to try out something new, her work career diversified from manufacturing, network marketing, publisher, TV host and recently an author. Her main passion is working with people. As TV Host of the popular series The Paranormal Zone she got to work with more than people! Bold and unafraid to speak her mind, Li Kim is often mistaken for being brash, which is one of the many conflicts she faces in the many roles she undertakes on a daily basis. But in every situation, she holds her head high, and carries on with a smile on her face and compassion in her heart.

Michelle Lee Suet Ling

TV Host, Sports Presenter, Radio Announcer

A TV Host, Sports Presenter and Radio Announcer by profession, Michelle specializes in sports, travel and adventure with projects both regionally and abroad. Michelle began her career in TV through a happy coincidence, spotted by a TV producer in her class. While pursuing her Bachelor in Arts (Mass Communication), Michelle juggled the studio and naturally took it up full time upon graduation. Her work and passion has allowed her to travel and meet with the world’s best, from athletes, to businessmen and entrepreneurs. There is more to Michelle than what meets the eye, she shares an equally immense interest in art, philosophy and animals. A perpetual paradox of contradictory extremea, Michelle believes in creativity and imagination but also a rooted sense of reality. She thinks life is simple, however she questions the depth and the purpose of it and mankind. She believes that everything in life is written in the stars but also believes we have the power to change it.
