In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxKingsAcademy is an event that celebrates ideas that tipped our lives, ideas that contributed to change and grew the seeds for human creativity. TEDxKA is a student-run project that was started last year.The theme of the conference is Tipping Point, which is the critical point in an evolving situation that leads to a new and irreversible development. The conference aims to host a number of outstanding individuals who walked the footsteps of commitment and who challenged convention in the name of a cause for a better world. TEDxKA is about challenge; inspiration and bringing together the best of the ideas based on a meritocratic approach. Let’s Tip it!

Maher Kaddoura

Maher Kaddoura a managment consultant by profession,a serial entrepreneur,angel investor,and also social entrepreneur with programs established in Jordan such as Hikmat Road Safety ( a program to address Road Safety and reduce the percentage of road death and injuries in the Kingdom), Mal3eb were they built 1200 football playground in public schools, LGHarat a national neighborhood football championship involving 500 neighborhoods, New Think Theater designed to inspire and inform audience of new ideas, Start Alliance (a group of organizations allied to make Jordan more entrepreneurial and innovative) and Meydan (a new age accelerator focused on reducing the time from idea to revenue (I2R)), Sherkitna a program to plant the seed of entrepreneurship among Jordanian students, Meqdam a program to plant the seed of leadership in our youth using edutainment. Moreover, he serves on a number of advisory boards including the University of Chicago, Harris School, Endeavor-Jordan Board a global organization to support high impact entrepreneurs.

Nabil Sawalha

Nabil started his acting career as a part time contributor for the BBC overseas service while completing his engineering studies in London. Came back to help establish the first Jordanian National Theatre and worked extensively in Radio, Tv and Theatre . 1975 Following advanced drama studies at the London Academy for Music and Dramatic Art , he established the Princess Haya Cultural Centre and Museum for Children in 1976 in Amman, which he directed until 1993. From 1990-1997, he co-founded The Nabil and Hisham Theatre of Political Satire, writing and performing a number of plays on Arab and international political. In 1995, he received the Medal of Independence First Class , for contributions to the arts . In 1997, While attending an Oxford University playwright’s course , Nabil wrote and performed two plays about Arabs in London . Since returning to Jordan in 2000, he continues to write mainly for theatre, producing and performing seven political comedies, as well as participating in TV series (MBC and JTV).while touring with his one man show “Mensaf Trail” ( US, England, Dubai, Palestine, Lebanon.)He also wrote for the Kennedy centre production about arab and Islamic culture Nabil trained as a Laughter Yoga Leader in India and Spain He now lectures extensively on the culture of the smile and tolerance as well as political comedy theatre.

Ahmad Al-Assad

Ahmad is the founder of WaQtak (your time) training company. He is considered to be one of top motivational speakers when it comes to inspiring youth. His vision and passion is to help youth discover their talents and build their lives around them. Ahmad is a certified trainer from the Institute of Leadership & Management – Britain. He holds a BA Degree in Marketing and is currently studying masters in creativity and giftedness. He delivered inspirational speeches in different events in Jordan such as Newthink Theater, TEDx, and other major events.
