TEDxDelhi is the spa for your brain. An ideas focused, entertainment filled day attended by over 1000 of the smartest change makers of the country. At TEDxDelhi people interested in the power of ideas to change the world celebrate the successes and failures of progress that makind is making. The shared listening, watching and meeting with change makers, ideators and contrarians is a once in a lifetime experience.

This years TEDxDelhi will focus on the theme of What's "Next - in the future of Humanity".

Humanity is sometimes easy to understand and often the most difficult. Through the lens of our past we will explore the future of humanity. On the stage are over 25 world class speakers and performers, each with an idea or art as surprising and world changing as the next. A number of niche performers and undiscovered artists and art forms will engage your brain fully.

For close to a decade TEDxWalledCity and TEDxDelhi have been a popular TEDx event producing some of the most pressing issues before an audience that has acted to change the world.

Deepak Bagla

Deepak Bagla is the Managing Director & CEO of Invest India, the official Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Government of India. Mr Bagla has a professional career spanning three decades, starting with the World Bank in Washington DC. In 1989 he joined Citibank Global Corporate and Investment Banking team and held several responsibilities across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Dr Yasmin Ali Haque

Childen's Rights
Dr. Yasmin Ali Haque is the UNICEF Representative in India. Prior to joining in July 2017, she was Deputy Director of UNICEF’s Office of Emergency Operations where she played a lead role in the programming and policies for an effective UNICEF response for children in humanitarian crisis. Dr. Haque served as the first UNICEF Representative in South Sudan 2010 to 2013, and from 2007 to 2010 she led the UNICEF Ghana office. As Deputy Representative in Sri Lanka 2004-2007, she was responsible for guiding and coordinating the UNICEF programme of support as well as the emergency response to the 2004 Asian tsunami. A national of Bangladesh, Dr. Haque holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh (1985), and a Master’s of Science degree in Health Systems Management from London University (2002).

M Balakrishnan

Assistive Technologies Expert
M. Balakrishnan is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at I.I.T. Delhi. He has held visiting positions in University of Guelph (Canada), University of Syracuse (USA), University of Kiel (Germany) and University of Dortmund (Germany). More recently the focus of his work has been in development of affordable assistive devices for visually impaired. He is involved in a number of projects that can enhance safe mobility as well as assist in education. SmartCane is the first product from the ASSISTECH group that has been launched as a product.

Manan Khurma

Manan Khurma is the CEO of Cuemath, a company that teaches kids how to learn math the fun way, and the right way. A math tutor for over 2 decades, Manan was frustrated with the level of math education in the country. He believes that math is everywhere, and the joy of discovery in the process of learning is something that every child deserves.

Nisha Dhawan

Nisha works in the field of empowering girls in particular and children. As a regional advisor at EMpower for Asia, Nisha engages in the representation of EMpower in the region, capacity-building within Asia through workshops and technical assistance and the cross-pollination of learnings within the region.

Prakriti Kargeti is a poet and writer based in Mumbai. She has worked extensively in television in the capacity of a producer. She is currently writing for films, television and the digital space.
