In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Faisal AlZarae

Student
Faisal Mohammed is a local 15 year old who’s on his way to the 12th grade. He enjoys boxing, listening to music and watching series. But sleep, doesn’t impress him much. Faisal has been sleep deprived for over two years and has finally known how dangerous sleep deprivation is. He aims to make a change in his city of Dubai and for its citizens.

Jawairia Tariq

She enjoys a wide range of things; her hobbies are more diverse than that of a normal teenagers. Jawairia has a fiery attitude, filled with determination and a little bit of stubbornness. She realized that people wouldn't take her seriously just because she was young, and something inside her told her that that was wrong. It is her goal to let people know that the youth have a bigger role in society than what everyone thinks.

Jida Emad

Jida is taking a stand against the stigmatisation of mental health. She is persistent and believes in speaking her mind; she is a firm believer that if you’ve got a platform that can influence others positively, you should definitely use it

Kashish Khalid

Before she became fire, she was water. Quenching the thirst of every dying creature. She gave and she gave until she turned from sea to desert but instead of dying of the heat, the sadness, the heartache, she took all of her pain and from her own ashes, became fire. She is a little girl with big dreams. She is an artist, a budding poet, and a dreamer; she is here today to enlighten us with the beauty of her thoughts and to take us on a journey depicting the horrors of abuse but also the mesmerising process of self-healing that follows. Kashish Khalid is here to remind us that even in the midst of our own chaos we are never alone.

Nada Wafa

Nada is a 17-year-old, who strives to do well academically and socially. With dreams of going into the courageous field of medicine, she hopes to maintain a balance in her life and enjoy every single moment by speaking her thoughts. She believes that a person simply can’t do just one thing in their life, which is reflected by her forever changing opinions. So here she is to tell you, that if you are ever in doubt about a career you are in, it’s never too late to sail another ship.

Youssef Elderiny

Martial Artist
Youssef is trained in various styles of Martial Arts over many years. He’s won many fights and competitions on an international scale. He is a public speaker who’s spoken on many international conferences throughout the years and uses Martial Arts to inspire people as he believes in the power and discipline that it can bring someone. There’s always more than meets the eye. In his TEDx talk, he will be sharing a few of the things he has learned over the years and is fascinated by.
