Our generation is living in one of the most tumultuous and interesting times that history has seen: Our democracy is in peril, education risks becoming a business, political and economic integration is falling apart, the environment faces serious challenges, design has never been so widespread, technology is slowly replacing workmanship, and scientific advances have never been so significant in our everyday lives.
This year’s event theme is focused on the instability of our future and the impact that we can have on shaping it as we move forward. TEDx seeks to bring together a multi- disciplinary group of speakers to share in the discussion of the opportunities of this ‘New Age’. From innovation and advancement in science, medicine or technology to philosophy, education and politics.

Tina Leslie is the founder of Freedom4girls and coiner of the term 'period poverty'. Having campaigned on behalf of young girls in Kenya unable to access sanitary ware Tina uncovered the same issues facing girls in the UK today. Alongside two 'day jobs' she now works tirelessly in her pursuit of enabling access to affordable ware, and where possible environmentally friendly sanitary ware to all those in need.Will Bolton
Will Bolton is a British Clinical Research Fellow at the National Institute for Health Research and is also a University of Leeds medical graduate. He is on the steering committee for Healthcare Technology Cooperative Foundation (HTCF), creating initiatives to bring together healthcare professionals, scientists, patients and industry representatives to identify unmet clinical needs and develop new technology to solve these. Will has a keen interest in surgery and is furthering this with his PhD research into surgical technologies in low-resource settings.Organizing team
