In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ajay Saini

Ajay is a social science nomad who believes that the world is made of stories. He travels to remote places both in India and internationally, using his insights and discoveries to contribute to The Hindu and Economic and Political Weekly publishings. His research interests gravitate towards historically isolated indigenous communities, biopolitics and government studies. He has also done extensive research on Northeast Indian politics and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He has a Doctorate in Social Work from Tata Institute Of Social Sciences (Mumbai), where he also works as an Assistant Professor.

Amit Thorat

Amit Thorat is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Study of Regional Development at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His research work lies in the fields of income, education and healthcare delivery inequalities across social, ethnic and religious groups in particular, in the context of India.

Asha Bajpai

Dr Asha Bajpai is a Professor of Law and the Founding Dean of the School of Law at Tata Institute Of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She is regarded as an expert on child rights and legal reform for vulnerable and marginalized sections of society.

Ishaan Patil

Ishaan is a student of St Xavier's College studying life sciences. His interests stand out on two opposite poles of the academic spectrum, one being Biological Research and the other being Fine Arts. Ishaan has pursued both this interests both in terms of academic research and extracurricular efforts.

Jishnu Dasgupta

Jishnu Dasgupta is the bass guitarist of Swarathma - India's leading folk rock band. He has performed for hundreds of shows across the world. Their musical style is Indian folk combined with comtemporary rock, reggae and blues. But what makes their music special are the issues they tackle through this performing art - from river conflicts to politics, from personal journeys to celebrations of love.

Nandita Das

An internationally acclaimed actress, Nandita Das has featured in more than 50 films in 10 different languages. She is the recipient of more than 20 awards, and has served on the jury of Cannes Film Festival twice. She is also the first Indian to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame of the International Women's Forum. Nandita is also an advocate for social justice and human rights, having worked extensively for children's rights, HIV/AIDS awareness, and women's safety. She has served as the Chairperson of the Children's Film Society of India and is a World Fellow anointed by Yale University.

Rajat Gupta

Rajat is the Founder and CEO of Tessol - a startup that builds sustainable and cost effective solutions for global temperature controlled supply chain. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and IIT Delhi, institutes which helped him develop a passion for building products and solutions that have a systemic impact. He has been working in the cold chain space for 8 years, covering problems like village-level milk procurement to ice-based energy storage.

Rinti Banerjee

Dr Rinti Banerjee is a doctor, innovator and researcher whose work has led to the development of technologies for some of our most pressing unmet medical needs. She serves as the Head Of Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering at IIT Bombay, one of the world's most eminent engineering colleges. Her innovations focus on drug delivery, smart biomaterials and application of nanotechnology in healthcare. She is the recipient of several honors, including the National Woman Bioscientist Award of India.

Sahej Bakshi

The emergence of Sahej Bakshi aka Dualist Inquiry dovetailed with the beginnings of electronica at the start of the decade. Sahej started making progressive music that helped him form a unique identity in India's music space. The Delhi based Producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist has constantly delivered genre defying records that have left an indelible mark on the electronica landscape. Having featured on "Forbes 30 under 30" and performed in some of the world's biggest musical festivals, Dualist Inquiry is an artist from whom we can always expect the unexpected.

Satyendra Verma

Lt Colonel Satyendra Verma, an army veteran of 23 years is a professional skydiver, base jumper and wingsuit flyer. A pioneer in these extreme sports, he performed India's first BASE jump in 2010. He has represented India in the World Wingsuit Flying Championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017. He also holds the record for Largest Flag in Freefall among three other mentions in the Limca Book Of Records. He has more than 2400 skydiving and wingsuit jumps and was awarded the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award by the President Of India in 2015.

Shobhna S Kumar

Shobhna is the founder of the publishing and production house Queer Ink, working exclusively on LGBTQHA +/Queer stories. She is an accidental social entrepreneur, passionate about developing the 'queer' cateogry/genre in literature, media and films in India. Her work has given voice to thousands of LGBTQ+ individuals all over India.

Utkarsh Patel

Utkarsh Patel is a Mythologist, Professor and author. His published books include "Shakuntala-The Woman Wronged", "Satyavati" and "Kannaki's Anklet". He is a Lecturer of Comparitive Mythology at Mumbai University and has qualifications in Indian and World Mythology from Mumbai University. He is also a founding member of the "Talking Myths Project", an online archive of traditional tales from the Indian sub-continent.

Yogesh Updhyaya

Yogesh is an entrepreneur and a professional improv comedian. He is currently working on his Initiative AskHow India to simplify complex policy and political topics. He has been an ensemble member of Improv Comedy Mumbai for 7 years.
