August 25, 2018
Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Maitri Paul

My name is Maitri Rangarajan Paul. This year, I graduated from Chirec International School after completing the IB Diploma Programme. Now I am headed to Stanford University in the fall. I intend to pursue a major in Biology with a Marine Biology Track. I have always been very passionate about the ocean and the conservation of sea turtles and other marine creatures. I recently obtained my Open Water Scuba Diving Certification and can't wait to swim amidst dolphins some day! I also love creating art, dancing, playing the violin and doing yoga.

Shashank Venkatesh

I am Shashaank A. Venkatesh, a 11th grader at CHIREC International School. I founded and am currently heading a public interest educational research NGO, the ASAP Corporation. I am also a published author, a voracious reader, and someone who can talk for hours about literally anything. In my free time, I love cracking terrible puns, writing philosophical poems, solving math problems, debating how to annex China, shredding metal music on the guitar or fanboying over Donald Trump. I have participated in 20 MUNs and have spoken at over 60 events across the city. I am an aspiring biomedical engineer, and my dream college is MIT or CalTech. I have interned at the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research in the summer of 2018, working in biophysics research. I have published three scientific papers in various journals, in the areas of virology, biophysics and theoretical physics.

Tejaswi Polimetla

I'm currently a sophomore at Oakridge International School in the MYP program. I am incredibly passionate about art and the field of physics. I am always painting, sometimes for hours on end or reading articles about the latest advancements and discoveries in physics. In future, I aspire to work in a field which allows me to blend these two interests such as architecture. When I'm not geeking out about art and physics, you can find me reading a book, playing chess or watching a romcom.
