Ming Hann Benjamin Cheh

Lego Brick Artist
Benjamin Cheh Ming Hann is a freelance brick artist doing commission works using Lego bricks as his art form. His works have been featured in International Lego magazine in BrickJournal, Blogs by Brother Bricks and Video Blog by Brickvault in Youtube to name but a few. He attends international Lego brick events throughout the world to showcase his unique brick works and is actively engaging in AFOL (Adult Friends of Lego) communities in both Malaysia and Singapore. He believes in going beyond the limit when it comes to building brick arts.

Tzy Horng Sai

Social Activist
Educational Psychologist, Founder of The Best of You Movement. Sai Tzy Horng is the Founder of The Best of You movement, a movement about the idea and practice of appreciation initiated by Julie’s Biscuits. He is vocationally trained as an educational psychologist. He’s resided in Malaysia, Singapore and Canada. Sai is a firm advocate of social equality and diversity, in a time where neoliberal capitalism is creating greater disparity within societies. He believes storytelling can help educate for social and cultural diversity and disrupt the dominant neoliberal narrative.

卢婉儿 Loo Wan Er

Cancer Survivor
Loo Wan Er is a freshie entering the working world. She is also a volunteer of the National Cancer Society Malaysia. Grit fuels her perseverance in this ordinary life, and her tiny frame is just bursting with shining resilience. Diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at the age of 12, Wan Er will be sharing her personal story of her journey of battling death. Striking to create public awareness about childhood cancer, she will also be sharing about her personal realization on the important role of parent’s unconditional love in the time of needs.

宋寶蘭 Song Poh Lan

Chinese Traditional Culture Activist
Teacher Song is the Vice Principal of Malaysian Han Studies. She has a Master degree from Carleton University Canada majoring in Political Science. Teacher Song is dedicated in promoting children reading, learning and practising of traditional scriptures of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. She believes that these teachings can purify humanity and solves problems at the individual, family, society, the country and even the world level. Therefore she took a vow to dedicate all her efforts to this cause. She is also the translator of The Governing Principles of Ancient China - Qunshu Zhiyao 360 Volumes 1 -3. Teacher Song had traveled to Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines and Singapore for educational exchange and found that Di Zi Gui’s values transcend race, religion and national boundaries, and therefore are able to help every individual to find happiness in their lives.

曾昭智 Jasond Tseng

Journalist
A cultural worker who self-jokes about not having a real job, Jasond Tseng founded the art gallery YSG Excellence at the age of 50. He is an active promoter of Malaccan cultural heritage and art. He is also a columnist who gives commentaries on current affairs in local newspapers. Jasond converses with the world through his writing. In quietude, he delves into the art of calligraphy and agarwood appreciation as part of his personal spiritual dialogue. Integrating his knowledge and the wisdom of the ancient Chinese philosophers, Laozi and Zhuangzi, Jasond will be sharing his attitude and beliefs toward life.

林仁超 Lim Jen Chou

Chief Culture Officer
Previously, Lim Jen Chou (JC) was in charge of an international training institution. He collected numerous accolades as Asian’s best speaker. He published numerous books and audiobooks on social, leadership and management skills. JC was also the founder of a management consultancy company in Shanghai. Currently, JC is the Chief Culture Officer of Feruni Ceramiche Sdn Bhd. His mission is to develop a purpose-driven organisation that focuses on delivering happiness. JC takes it as a challenge to find a balance between a company’s profitability and its employees’ happiness. He strives to match the right person for the right position, creating a win-win outcome. His motto in life is “Only a happy person can achieve a greater success”. Despite the many challenges in his life, JC persists in pursuing his original dream of building an organisation that delivers happiness, for himself, for the corporate and for the society at large, creating the greatest value for the community.

林建仁 Lim Kian Ming

AI Researcher
Dr Lim Kian Ming is a lecturer in the Faculty of Information Science & Technology, Multimedia University. His research topics include machine learning, computer vision and pattern recognition. He has won a few international awards on scientific innovation and his works are recognised internationally and being published in international academic journals and conferences. With his passion in the subject of Machine Learning and Buddhism, he persistently studies the analogous ways of human learning and Buddhist texts on humanity, striving to integrate Science and Buddhism to elevate Artificial Intelligence. Dwelling deep in these research works allows him to gain a different insight in the way human learns.

许龙年 Koh Long Yan

Instrumentalist
Koh Long Yan has a professional degree in traditional instruments from China's Central Conservatory of Music, majoring in Erhu. He is also the conductor for Melaka Teo Chew Association Chinese Orchestra’s (TCCO) main ensemble. Being Malaysian 2nd generation artist for traditional Chinese instruments, Long Yan has great ambition for musical works and he dedicates great effort in promoting it. His students consist of primary school children up to university graduates. He has conducted many remarkable musical events throughout Malaysia, and one of the highlights was a tribute performance in November 2015 that won him praises from all walks of life. Long Yan believes folk music is part of the world music genre, and therefore, we can understand a culture by learning its music. In this TEDx event, Long Yan will reveal how the charm of Chinese traditional music carved its way onto the global stage.

Bold, innovative and visionary - these are the words used to describe the eminent Dato' Colin Tan, the co-founder of one of Malaysia's fastest growing conglomerate, Hatten Group of Companies. Under his leadership, the Hatten brand has grown from an upstart property developer to an international, multi-award winning mega-conglomerate specialising in property development, property management, hospitality, medical and wellness. Other new divisions include education, arts and culture. In the coming TEDx, Dato' Colin Tan will be sharing with the audience his corporate vision of "Building Tomorrow Together", his personal insights and his community efforts in creating value for the community.

陈毅杰 Tan Yee Jie

Educator, CEO of Golden Paddy Inspirational Studio Director of Spark of Wisdom Centre The Principal of Kinderheart Children Education Centre. Yee Jie believes that reading is the best sports for kids and pictorial books are a child’s best toys. He also thinks that reading should not be limited to only reading materials, it should also include “reading” the “books” of our life. Over the years, Yee Jie has been invited to speak to teachers and parents in various locations on the subject of reading. He also shares fun stories with children. His biggest dream is to enjoy reading pictorial books with a lot of friends who share his love for kids and reading. In this coming TEDx, Yee Jie will be sharing with us the art of deep reading and how to reunite with our self again through reading.

黄淑惠 Aki Huang Shus Huey

Aki Huang is a full-time mum and a music composer. She dwells in two worlds between her family and her music compositions. She likes clear skies and the woods, drawing and photography. She craves for intimate conversations with her children and blogs about her daily life where she shares how she is madly in love with this beautiful and adorable world. Aki prefers the ordinary life over a lavish one. She enjoys finding meaning in life from her small daily moments. Her motto is “You can only change the world by first changing yourself, and you need to love yourself first before other will start loving you".

黄锦周 Joe Ng Kim Chew

Coffee Artisan
From a concept and a book, he gained insight into the future of Malaysia’s coffee art. Being inspired and touched, he decided to promote the local coffee culture to the international scene. Joe Ng is a coffee artist and also an art creator. In 2005, he founded the Calanthe Art Cafe, housing all the coffee from the 13 states of Malaysia. His arduous journey visiting the coffee roasters throughout Malaysia repaid him with the precious stories of their entrepreneurial struggles, sparking his vision of a ubiquitous Malaysian coffee. Joe will be sharing about his determination in making his works one and only in the world and also the vanishing art of traditional coffee making.
