In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adam Angus Thomas

International charity worker, mechanical and electrical engineer, and IT network management consultant
Born in 1963, in Hillingdon, West London, England to British African-Caribbean parents of the “Windrush generation” I returned to England in 1970 and was, high school, educated at Greenford High School London before completing my first degree in Computing Science at Imperial College London and going on to later run my own IT company and get evolved in International Charity work. I am married to Rachel, my wife, and have been blessed with 5 wonderful children, Micah, Talitha, Ezekiel, Hadassah and Izak and live in Jasenica, a small village outside the city Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I currently work for the a UK based Charity, teaching English conversation, I am also a trained English FA football coach and I long to invest my time teaching young people of BiH about Business and Entrepreneurship.

Benjamin Rhys Bowkett

Linguist and educator
Having overcome Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome and dyslexia, Ben is a linguist and language teacher in Mostar, Bosnia Herzegovina. The focus of his work is to determine how best developments in teaching language skills to first language speakers with specific learning differences can be use to help those learning English as a second or foreign language.

Merima Dervović

Bachelor of art history and Italian language and literature
Born in 1991 in Sarajevo, raised in Italy. Returned in my homeland in 1997. Educated in the Faculty of philosphy in Sarajevo, where I finished Art history and Italian language and literature. In the past years I became involved with human right activism, advocating a better quality of life and inclusion for disabled people. Trough magazine articles, a short documentary and trough various projects I'm trying to contribute in making a change in society. Apart from that, my huge passion is painting and already had various art exhibitions. I'm currently living in Sarajevo where I'm finishing my Master's degree in Italian language and literature.
