Theme: Follow The Synthwave

This event occurred on
August 4, 2018
Al Chouf District, Mont-Liban
Lebanon

An era of economic, social and political collapse in 1980s combined with technological growth and optimism gave birth to the Synthwave.
Marking the rise of pop culture, Synthwave influenced many life aspects around it including art, music, design and consumer technology. It made a reappearance in the early 2000s in the form of a music genre and through video games.
Our event wants to celebrate the deeper meaning behind the Synthwave. Beyond its nature as a social and artistic movement, what it represents as a clash between the past and future, optimism and misery, is a motivation to keep moving forward and to keep creating even when everything around is collapsing. It is a nostalgia for a beautiful past, a celebration for our present day and a hope for a bright future.
The speakers we have chosen are rebellious change-makers that don’t go by any book. With their inspiring ideas and stories, they will carry us away in an adventure that will make us celebrate all the beautiful and chaotic aspects of the live that surrounds us. With them, we are ready to ‘go back to the future.’
