In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aadith Vittala

Aadith is a sophomore at Rice University, majoring in Physics and Biochemistry. Despite this strong STEM focus, he is fascinated by the social world and how we can better understand it through the lens of science. Aadith especially enjoys learning about and sharing memes, hence this talk.

Lavina Kalwani

Lavina Kalwani is a student at Rice University currently studying Neuroscience and Sociology. She is interested in the impact policies have on our daily lives, and in turn, how we affect policies. She believes an open-minded approach is key to healthy political discussion, and she hopes to encourage this mindset in those around her.
