In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Allan Rodrigues

Allan is at the confluence of design, interdisciplinary learning, social impact and innovation. His role as strategist and collaborator interfaces him with people with multiple skill sets. He calls them ‘uberslashies’. Through the Maker’s Asylum, he is catalysing an ecosystem equipping the next generation with knowledge for tomorrow. Allan converges technology, communities and lateral thinking to solve India’s unmet needs.He is currently incubating Intergovernmental collaborative projects and initiatives in France, Singapore, Japan and the UAE.

Amin Sheikh

Amin Sheikh, is a social entrepreneur, and Founder of the Bombay to Barcelona Library cafe. Amin’s story is about how magic is real, how hard work and integrity can take you anywhere and make any dream come to life, about how self-belief can fuel any journey, about how family is something we’re born into but is also made through heart connections; but most of all, it’s the story of how if one person commits to change and holds on to that vision, that intention can move, touch, inspire and weave together the most beautiful families, communities, countries and world.

Anuraag Dhoundeyal

Anuraag Dhoundeyal, a versatile musician, an innovative composer, a passionate corporate trainer, and a skilful storyteller, Anuraag is a graduate in Economics from St. Xavier’s College (Mumbai) and has spent over 18 years learning Hindustani Classical Music under the tutelage of the best in the field. He has to his credit numerous performances and collaborations, both national and international. He has partnered with musicians from different genres in creating original compositions as well as lending his voice for multiple projects covering genres like western classical, jazz, folk music from Africa, Ireland and Rajasthan, World Music and Sufi. As a Music Educator, Anuraag has been invited by prestigious universities like the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London) and Carnegie Hall (New York) to conduct workshops on Indian Classical Music for the post-graduate students and to participate in Continuing Professional Development Workshops. Apart from his music, Anuraag has been focusing on developing skills and competencies in corporate settings for over a decade. His workshops are a perfect amalgam of arts and day-today hands on activities that help hone oneself for being the best at their job. Anuraag is the co-creator, composer, co-narrator and the lead singer of ‘Sounds of the Sufis’ that is India’s first Interactive Musical Documentary-Theatre Performance. He is now focusing on getting together The Anuraag Collective that brings forth honest, collaborative, music that transcends boundaries.

Bernadette David

Bernadette (Bernie) David, born and raised in the United States and Europe, worked in the mortgage banking division for JP Morgan Chase Bank for 9 years before she changed directions and came to India in 2007. Together with her husband, they work towards making a positive impact in the lives of the less fortunate. This begins with the work of their charity, teaching underprivileged women how to bake and continues through the opportunity of employment into their social enterprise, Spring Street Bakery. Spring Street Bakery, originally founded as TH Bakes in 2009, is a classic American bakery specializing in custom cakes, pies, baked goods and sugar cookies. Through the business, the charity, their community of friends, employees and customers, Bernie hopes to continue to be a voice and to serve those who are less fortunate.

Bittu Sahgal

Bittu Sahgal is the Founder of the Sanctuary Nature Foundation, Editor of Sanctuary Asia, India's first and largest circulating wildlife and ecology magazine and Founder-Editor of Sanctuary Cub, India’s oldest and only wildlife magazine for children. He has been closely involved with Project Tiger since its inception in the 1970s, and has spent over four decades writing about conservation issues in books, magazines and newspapers in both English and regional languages. He has also produced 30 wildlife documentaries, and led national and international environmental campaigns across media platforms, including social media. He created Kids for Tigers, a conservation programme for school children that has reached over a million children and has run continuously for almost two decades. He has served on a range of government and non-government organisation boards and committees over the last 30 years, including the National Board for Wildlife (Government of India), the IUCN (World Conservation Union), The Wild Foundation (U.S.A) and the Expert Appraial Committee for Infrastructure, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.

Dr. Nandini Gokulchandran

An M.D. in medical Microbiology.. Presently working in the capacity of Deputy Director and Head of Medical Services at NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, Navi Mumbai. Editor-in-Chief of Indian Journal of Stem Cell Therapy. And one of the board members of many ethics committee for stem cell research & therapy. She has authored over 14 books and has 77 scientific publications to her credit in journals of national and international reputation. Her contribution towards society has always been by participating in workshops, medical camps television interviews, one on one talks and other activities to spread awareness about several neurological disorders which are otherwise unknown to the people.

Dr. Ravi Mohanka

Dr. Ravi Mohanka has trained at some of the best institutes in the world. He has a large experience in living donor and cadaveric liver transplantation, pancreas transplant, Intestinal and multi-visceral transplantation. His area of expertise also includes surgery for Liver, Gall Bladder and Bile duct cancers. He is passionate about organ donation and helps many NGOs to spread its awareness. Dr. Ravi is keen to make transplantation more accessible and affordable and is helping several government and trust hospitals to establish liver surgery and transplant units. He has organized many conferences, chaired and delivered faculty lectures and presented his research work at many national and international scientific meetings and conferences

Priya Pereira

Priya Pereira first made books under the imprint Pixie Bks in 1993. And only in 1999 during a visit to the US, discovered there's a term for what she did - Artists' Books. Today she’s featured as India’s first and only Book Artist. Artists’ Books are books in art form. Quite like how Stained Glass is glass in art form. The Artists’ Book movement began in Europe in the ‘40s and then progressed to the United States and other continents. Priya makes Artists' Books with her husband Tony, an internationally awarded copywriter who prefers to stay behind the scenes. Their Artists' Books are in Museums, Libraries and University collections around the world.

Rajeev Thakker

Rajeev Thakker is an architect, artist & educator. He obtained his BArch from Syracuse University and Masters in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University GSAPP. He currently runs his own architectural design practice in Mumbai called a-RT which looks to engage design through various creative processes.

Rishi Aggarwal

Rishi Aggarwal is a well regarded environmental and urban issues activist who has over more than 15 years been closely involved with impacting a number of environmental issues in Mumbai. Saving large tracts of mangrove forests at the turn of the century, being a voice for decentralised waste management, fighting for better walking infrastructure for pedestrians and championing for high quality public transport are just some of the issues he has been closely involved. He is a frequent commentator on these issues in media and helps shape public opinion. With a long standing involvement in waste management Rishi supports various organisations, individuals and cities with developing methodologies for waste management. He has a keen interest in governance structures and their impact on the course of life of citizens. In his words Mumbai has been his laboratory for shaping the future of urban planning and sustainability for Indian cities. It saddens him to see the poor supporting framework he has had to work in through the more youthful years of his life even as peers chose cushy risk averse options on the beaten path.

Vineet Kanabar

Vineet Kanabar is an internet optimist - a believer in the power of this almost magical technology to fundamentally change the way we engage with the world. Vineet’s belief comes from the influence of the internet in his own life and work. Starting in digital journalism and culture writing, then working in digital communications across government, creative & media agencies, and with brands, the power of digital storytelling has been a common thread in Vineet’s work. Each role, mapped along the evolution of the internet, has taught Vineet more about how we construct narratives and see ourselves in a connected world. After graduating in Communications from MICA, Vineet consulted for the Government of Gujarat, worked in digital strategy roles for PHD , and now heads marketing for the widely loved digital video entertainment start-up, The Viral Fever. Vineet has been recognised as one of India’s top digital strategists and teaches digital communications at business and design schools.

Zeba Kohli

Zeba has been handling Fantasie Fine Chocolates, her maternal Grandfather’s venture, since overs 3 decades .When it comes to chocolate brands in the Indian market, Fantasie Fine Chocolates is one name that stands out. She took over the family business including Banquet Halls & the family Educational Trust at an early age. With several awards acknowledging her credibility as a Chocolatier and for her contribution in social work by providing exemplary service, Zeba Kohli is an eminent name amongst confectioners in the country. Zeba has also created amazing Art & theme events including for the international brand TUMI. Zeba has been on the jury of the World Chocolate Masters India and was an ambassador of Barry Callebaut. She launched LINDT Chocolates of Switzerland in India over 25 years ago. Recently, she has created a new line of Brownies called “Fancy That’’ which will Soon be available Online & in A & B Class Cities. She has also participated at several women empowerment conferences, urging women across the country to rise as entrepreneurs, proving to be an inspiration to many. & is a Voluntary Cancer Counsellor. Zeba also mentors young entrepreneurs in Colleges & has created a platform called “PROJECT 7 ‘’ to promote budding entrepreneurs.
