At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anjoo Bhatnagar

Paediatrician cum Neonatologist
Dr. Anjoo Bhatnagar after doing her MBBS with honors and medals in almost all subjects of medicine and receiving President’s medal for her outstanding meritorious performance choose Pediatrics as her subject of specialization for her masters. After working for half of her professional life on top position in corporate Hospital and being involved in high end intensive care pediatrics, she first came in touch with tribal population of Indian children in remote area of Madhya Pradesh. On treating these children she realized that it’s here where the actual services of a real professional is required and gradually she evolved herself to treat financially downtrodden village children through ultra low cost, integrated systems of medicine where a simple decoction can work wonders. Attending free medical camps with increasing frequency now she is giving full time and advantage of her qualification and experience to the children who belong to disadvantaged population.

Arun P. Sikarwar

Neuro Biologist
Mr. Arun Sikarwar is fascinated to understand that which organ is more important in human body, the Heart, being immensely mentioned in poetry and prose or simply the Brain? With due respect to the “tender and adorable heart”, undoubtedly the Brain is much more complicated and indeed an amazing organ that controls and coordinate the whole body and makes us conscious, wise and intelligent among all organisms on earth. Arun is serving as Assistant Professor and enjoys explaining and discussing the cutting edge topics of brain biology to UG and PG students. He is penchant to explore the myth and facts of “Brain and Mind.” He believes that wide spread awareness of “Brain and Mind” information in the society would make better awareness, understating and assimilation of various important facets e.g. cognitive biology, neurobiology of meditation and yoga, human memory, old age effects over brain and mind, neurobics and other myriad kinds of portmanteau words with prefix of “neuro-“.

Sustainability Enthusiast
Bahaar Rao is a Civil Engineering graduate with specialization in Architecture who is fervent towards sustainable and alternate methods and constructions. She believes that structures are not just rigid combinations of different materials put together using various techniques and technologies but are living units which can actually invoke peace, harmony and consciousness within people if properly designed and can also save the environment if efficiently constructed so that the world becomes a better place to live in.

Bani D. Dhir

Literary Theorist
Dr. Bani D. Dhir is a literary theorist and creative writer. She is with the Department of English and is the coordinator of (iNFORMATION- cOMMUNICATION- nEURO- cOGNITIVE-) Technologies Assisted Language Lab and co-coordinator of Center for Consciousness Studies at Dayalbagh Educational Institute. Besides literature, literary theory and consciousness studies, Dr. Dhir’s highly interdisciplinary research endeavors aim to bridge the gulf between science and humanities. She has been a recipient of the Director’s medal during her BA (Hons.), MA and MPhil degrees and also Systems Society of India’s (SSI) National Young Systems Scientist award and more recently, their prestigious Raj Kumar Varshney award. She has won several best paper awards at various international and national conferences. Since 2012, she has also been organizing “East-West Forum” for integrating Eastern and the Western perspectives of consciousness at the international conference series “The Science of Consciousness”.

K. Hans Raj has 31 Years of teaching and research Experience. He has 52 International and National level awards/Recognitions which include Vikram Award by SSI, India,. Lifetime Achievement award from ISAM, USA 2014 and ISPE, USA, 2012, Certificate of Excellence by CEMEF Laboratory, France. He was a, Visiting Scientist and undertook collaborative research work at University of Kiel, Germany, CEMEF Laboratory, France, University of Maryland, University of North Carolina, MIT, Boston, Western Michigan University, RPI, Oakland University, USA. He was a recipient of “Academic Excellence Award”, 2011 by Aerial Delivery Research and Development (ADRDE), DRDO, Agra. He has published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journals and International/National Conference Proceedings. He is a Technical consultant/ Expert to ADRDE (DRDO) and Chief Editor of International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Systems.

K. Soami Daya

Biosensor Researcher
Dr. K. S. Daya did her Ph. D. in 2002 from the Dayalbagh Educational Institute on Microwave Studies of High Temperature Superconductor and their Applications in Frequency Reference. After her Ph.D. she pursued her Post Doc from Research Center Juelich, Germany on MEMS Tunable UMTS filters. On return to India she was employed at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and at Nokia Siemens Networks. Since 2007 she is a faculty in the Department of Physics & Computer Science, Dayalbagh Educational Institute. She has 10 papers and two patents to her credit with two major projects in the microwave communications and Microwave Virtual Laboratory for e-education. Her research interests are biosensors for affordable health care and lean communication systems.

Mohit Taneja

Creative Strategist
Mohit has 20 years of experience in areas related to strategy, planning and innovation and has been trying to figure out what it all means. Whatever he has figured out so far, there’s at least one thing he is sure about – his passion for understanding how these relate to each other and to organizational success and how a lack of focus prevents organizations from achieving their full potential. He is also an avid trainer and is constantly trying to comprehend how people form the real motivators behind any change. She brought inspiration from different segments, which became her aspiration for Research on Traditional Styles of Indian Textiles and inspiration for Upliftment of the rural and backward People. She has a rich experience of 37 years in the field of Textiles and Management; has been Advisor to Hastshilp Vikas Nigam, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Consultant for Product Designing to J. K. Synthetics, Kota, Technical assistance to Small Scale Industries Institute, Ministry of Industries, Government of India, Trust Board Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute, Board of Governors Apparel Training & Design Centre, President Swet Nagar Satsanges social welfare society.

Prem K. Dantu

Agriculture Technologist
Prem Kumar Dantu is a trained biotechnologist and has been passionately associated with agriculture for almost 40 years now. Taming harsh sandy soils of semi-arid Agra or establishing orchards in the mountainous terrain of Himachal Pradesh or working on sodic soils near Varanasi are challenges to hone the agricultural skills. The poignant site of people living at subsistence level or sleeping with a hungry stomach or malnutrion in kids concern me deeply. He has been working on models of community farming, sustainable kitchen gardens and protected farming using precision agriculture tools for enhancing productivity.

Prem K. Kalra

Education Innovator
Prof. Prem K. Kalra is the Director of Dayalbagh Educational Institute. Prior to this, he was the founding Director of the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and has held several academic and administrative positions at premier academic institutes, including several at IIT Kanpur. He adopts system thinking approach to integrate pre-nursery to post-PhD education and works on implementing holistic development based models of education. He is passionate about making a difference to the lives of students and learners through involvement as a policy and opinion leader, as well as through implementation of development initiatives.

Prem S. Sudhish

Cybersecurity Analyst
Prem Sewak Sudhish teaches Biometric and Cryptographic Security and has research interests in person identification and machine consciousness. He has also been a volunteer consultant to the Government of India on national projects. He is an avid aficionado of technology enabled democratization and internationalization of education and strongly believes that research and development in technology should come out of ivory towers to benefit the marginalized and underprivileged in the society. Dr. Sudhish has a BS in Electrical Engineering with distinction from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, MS from Stanford University and PhD through a collaborative arrangement between Dayalbagh Educational Institute and Michigan State University.

Siddharth Agarwal

Integrative Physician
Dr. Siddharth Agarwal is on a mission to relieve suffering of mankind through universal access to affordable and Integrated Medicine Healthcare services. An Integrated Medicine General Physician at Dayalbagh Educational Institute and Saran Ashram Hospital, Dr. Agarwal is the Coordinator at DEI Faculty of Integrated Medicine (AYUSH), where he is evolving a model of integrated approach to conventional and alternative systems of medicine. His experience of Clinical practice spans nearly two decades and his research focuses on providing palliative care and pain management, particularly in terminal cancers, neurodegenerative disorders and end of life suffering. Dr. Agarwal is on editorial board of 2 International Journals and is an International Associate Member of Italian Society for Hypnosis and Pain Management.

Sumir Devaguptapu

Community Worker
D. Sumir lives in Rajaborari; a remote tribal hamlet in the deep forests of Satpura Ranges in Madhya Pradesh (Central India) along with his wife and two children. He is closely associated with the tribal community outreach program of DEI and coordinates the effort on the ground with the tribal people. Before voluntarily quitting his corporate job for joining the tribal outreach program in an honorary capacity, Mr. Sumir had worked with American Express Company at the financial districts of Manhattan, Stamford and Gurgaon for over a decade. Mr. Sumir holds a Master’s in Business Administration and is a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the US.
