TEDxRGNUL will be hosted at the lush, beautiful and picturesque campus of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. National Law Universities in India have over time come to be synonymous with centers of academic and research excellence. Amongst all the eighteen national law schools in the country, RGNUL is the first national law school to engage and initiate an exchange of ideas with the wider community through TEDxRGNUL.

Anand Ranganathan

Scientist
Author of The Land of the Wilted Rose (Rupa) and For Love and Honor (Bloomsbury), Anand Ranganathan studied Chemistry at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and went on to pursue a doctorate from Cambridge. A man of varied interests, he is researching dengue and tuberculosis at the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Delhi and Special Center for Molecular Medicine, JNU. Also, for the record, he is Contributing Editor with News-laundry. We told you, varied interests!

Anmol Rodriguez

Acid Attack Survivor and Activist
A girl who was welcomed in this world with acid. Despite all adversaries she is now breaking all conventions of the modeling world which is considered only for composed faces. She has featured with Juhi Chawla and Susmita Sen in fashion shows. And she was a brand ambassador of PNG jewellers. Currently she has been working with many photographers and fashion designers.

Brahmachari Amit

Yoga Guru
Brahmachari Amit is a disciple of the world renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (also known as AMMA). He has undergone rigorous training in Yoga and meditation while at Amma''s ashram and is a certified teacher of the IAM Technique as well as Amrita Yoga. He regularly conducts Yoga and Meditation programs for adults, youth and children in Amma's Ashram, various schools, Amma's 101 adopted villages across India, various organizations, various educational institutions and various companies throughout India and other countries like USA, Canada, UAE etc. He also delivers talks on Bhagvad Gita, Upanishads and other spiritual subjects in addition to the inspirational and motivational talks. In his early years, after graduating in computer science and engineering , he pursued a career in software industry within India. Later he went abroad to USA and Canada where he worked in senior roles for various multi-national companies.

D.B. Shekatkar

Lieutenant General
Having served in Indian army for 40 years, he was an active member of India-USA Defence Cooperation and Strategic Partnership initiatives. He participated in Indo-Pak war in 1965 inKashmir. He was the one who trained Mukti Bahini in Bangladesh before war of liberation. D.B.Shekhar headed the 11-member committee constituted for the enhancement of combat capabilitiesof the armed forces. The Committee has recommended to the government to not to reduce its "combat strength" at a time the country is facing hostility from Pakistan.He has co-authored 12 books on Security, Terrorism, Internal Security, and Intelligence.

J. Sai Deepak

Author
J. Sai Deepak is a Delhi-based litigator who practises primarily before the Delhi High Court. He is a very successful litigator but did not have law as his first career choice. Instead, he graduated with Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering after which he went on to pursue LLB. In his own words, he is “a first-generation lawyer, an engineer-turned-general litigator with core competence in Intellectual Property Law and allied areas”. He won the 2008 Legal Writing Competition of the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP) as a student and writes for his blog “The Demanding Mistress”. Sai frequently writes on his blog. As a law student, his blogpost on the Bajaj-TVS patent dispute was quoted and was relied upon by a Division Bench of the Madras High Court to reverse the findings of the Single Judge. He has also authored papers in various exemplary journals.

Sukhsimranjit Singh

Sukhsimranjit Singh is the Managing Director of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and Assistant Professor of Law and Practice at Pepperdine Law. Professor Singh served as an associate director from 2016-2017. He is a leading scholar, speaker and trainer on cross-cultural decision making and communication and was invited to deliver a TED Talk on the subject at Salem, Oregon in 2015. Professor Singh has trained more than a thousand mediators, has successfully resolved more than five hundred conflicts and has coached innumerable law students for national and international dispute resolution competitions.Dr.Singh is the Managing Director of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and Assistant Professor of Law and Practice at Pepperdine Law. Professor Singh served as an associate director from 2016-2017. Professor Singh has trained more than a thousand mediators, has successfully resolved more than 500 conflicts .

Vijay Sakhuja

Economist
Dr. Vijay Sakhuja is Director (Research) of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi. He is also a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), Singapore (since 2006). Dr. Sakhuja received his Ph.D. from the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, where he also completed his M.Phil studies. A former Indian Navy officer, Dr. Sakhuja served in the Indian Navy for over two decades in various capacities including commanding officer and staff positions in the Naval Headquarters. Dr. Sakhuja has been on the research faculty of various think tanks in India, including as: Senior Fellow at the Centre for Airpower Studies (CAPS) and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF); and Research Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), and the United Service Institution of India (USI), all in New Delhi. He has lectured at various Indian and international universities and military colleges.
