In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bhawna Garg

IAS officer
Bhawna Garg is an IAS officer currently posted in Chandigarh, Punjab on the designation of Secretary Employment Generation and Training and in addition, she is Secretary Technical Education & Industrial Training and also the Director of Punjab Skill Development Mission. She is the First woman to get the First Rank in All India Civil Services Examination and she also secured First Rank in the Combined Entrance Test, Punjab. She served on deputation in the Union Territory of Chandigarh (city-State) in the departments of Finance, Public transport, Cultural Affairs, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development and Food Supplies. She also worked as Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh and MD, Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation Limited (CITCO). (2013-2016). She served the Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Non-conventional Energy, Excise and Taxation, Personnel in the State Government of Punjab (2012-13).

Manjari Chaturvedi

Accomplished dancer & Performer, Founder-Sufi Kathak Foundation
She is a name to reckon with, a trailblazer, the leading exponent of classical dance in India. She has taken the traditional form of Kathak to a different level altogether and has created her own style. She has combined the mysticism of Sufi traditions with classical Indian dance to create a stunning new dance form called Sufi Kathak. She has performed in over 300 concerts. Manjari Chaturvedi has 24 original creative productions to her credit and has performed in more than 22 countries over the world. In the past decade, Manjari Chaturvedi has collaborated and performed with a wide range of international artists as global fusion and part of UNESCO project. With the establishment of the Sufi Kathak Foundation, she has taken a leap further to support marginal artists and provide research opportunities to scholars and students.

Pooja Agarwal

Educationist and Entrepreneur, Pro-Chancellor SRMU, Dean SRMCEM
Mrs. Pooja Agarwal adopted the mantra “Growth with excellence” in all her life endeavors. This, coupled with commitment to quality, dedication and persistence culminated in the establishment of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University in 2012. The University envisions to weave together education, research & consultancy and raise them to global standards. Earlier in 1999 she along with her husband Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, laid the foundation of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering & Management, Started with just 21 students & 3 faculty members, thus has today mushroomed into Shri Ramswaroop Group of Professional Colleges (SRMGPC), with about 10,000 students, 500 faculty members etc. Mrs. Pooja Agarwal also made inroads into the domain of software technology and launched two software companies SRDT & STPL-offering digital technology solutions in media, entertainment, education, enterprise content management and e-publishing.

Runa Banerjee

Indian Social Worker and the co-founder of the Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA)
Runa Banerjee is an Indian social worker and the co-founder of the Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA), Lucknow, a non governmental organization promoting the interests of the poor working women of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Nominated for Nobel Prize in year 2005, Padma Shri Ms Runa Banerjee, trivialises her achievements with a wave of her delicate hand saying “There still remains a lot more to do in a lot more ways! “ The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for her contributions to Indian society. Starting out in 1980s, Banerjee has transformed the lives of many women and taken this non-profit organisation (SEVA) from just 30 to over 8000 women.
