TEDxYouth@Parklands is an independently organized youth TEDx event targeting young change makers (13-35) in Kenya cutting across all fields. The full-day event will feature speakers across multiple fields in Kenya. We are dedicated to giving a platform to revolutionary youth to share their ideas on the specific issues and themes related to the 21st century African youth.

Bryan Kariuki

Group Head of New Businesses, Cellulant
Bryan has been a management consultant, before he worked with a startup clone factory where he set up startup cloning operations in Kenya. He then ran a travel agency, albeit an online one. Since then he has run the Kenya operations of Africa's best payments business, where he now leads the execution of new business lines across Africa.

Cece works as a Wellness & Leadership Coach. She’s the founder of The Main Protagonist Coaching. She runs one-on-one coaching programs for entrepreneurs & leaders in organizations and has facilitated workshops at organizations like Google, Almasi Beverages, wPower Hub, Nairobi Garage to name a few. She has run Masterclasses in Kenya, Australia & Hong Kong. Cece is passionate about helping change-makers have the mindset to help them lead authentically & effectively.

A Cyber Security researcher and Head of Cyber Security Solutions at Internet Solutions, Bright is keen on Cyber Security Awareness as this has become one of the most prevalent ways of compromising security at Target and organization. He founded The AfricaHackon Conference - the first ever LIVE demonstration cyber security conference to be held in East Africa. The aim of the conference is to demonstrate to individuals how vulnerable they are and to nurture the next best cyber security experts in the country. It has been running for 5 years now and generated about 10 jobs in the market with many others developing interests in the Cyber Security space

In her spare time you will find her eating, thinking of her next meal or travel adventure and looking for the perfect lighting for a selfie... Evelyn currently serves as Director for media strategy at Tripple E Plus Media where she works with a very diverse group of clients.

Gakii Biriri

Founder, An Honest Intention (AHI)
Gakii is passionate about education, public policy and sustainable development. A strategist by profession, she set up AHI to improve the quality of education provided to children in schools in the slums and other marginalized areas. She also runs and manages a blog, The Evolving Mom, where she writes about her experiences as a mother and a woman. Gakii also sits on the first Deloitte Mill Board, a group of young professionals who advise the Deloitte Africa CEO on internal innovation strategies.

While he is an image and corporate branding consultant, Mwenesi has a masters in commercial law. He is one of a handful of globally certified etiquette and protocol consultants in Africa and founded the Etiquette and Protocol Institute of East Africa. He has developed various curriculums among them - in leadership charisma, reputation management, corporate and business etiquette, state and international protocol, fine dining and public speaking

Scheaffer is an Afro-politico-feminist, co-founder and Program Manager at Siasa Place a non-profit organization that promotes people’s participation in democratic processes through research, trainings, civic education, networking and strategic partnerships. She is the Vice Chairperson of Ukweli party a grassroots political movement that is restoring power back to the people, a member of the First Idea Laboratory of the Feminist Reflection and Action Group a Feminist critique as an inspiration for the renewal of progressive political thought in Africa with FES Mozambique, digital activist expert working with DW Akademie’s Women@web network, Writivist, Social justice activist and political analyst.

Shivachi Muleji

General Manager, East Africa, Taxify
Shivachi Muleji is an experienced, data-driven, urban transportation enthusiast. He has worked with some of the world's leading ride sharing and technology companies. He is currently the General Manager, East Africa at Taxify. Prior to this, Shivachi worked as a Project Manager at Dynamo Advisors, a consulting company focused on early stage technology companies in Africa. Prior to joining Dynamo Advisors, Shivachi managed strategy and analytics for other ride hailing players in East Africa. From his two years at Millward Brown EA, he has extensive experience leading marketing studies in sub-Saharan Africa for the world's biggest fast-moving consumer brands.

She is the Founder and Executive Director of Safari Doctors Initiative. Safari Doctors was founded to support the provision of medical services and advance the health rights for individuals and families by strengthening mobility and health workers in the remote areas of Lamu to improve access to health care in remote areas. The Organization has been awarded the UN Person/Organization of the Year Award in Kenya for 2017 and Umra acknowledged under African Leaders for Change 2017 and CNN Heroes 2016.
