In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Kiana Underwood

Kiana Underwood is the owner of Tulipina, an internationally renowned floral design studio that specializes in creating bespoke experiences for high-end weddings and events. Underwood's use of unique color combinations and floral varieties draws admirers and floral designers from all over the world to her sold-out workshops. Her new book, Color Me Floral, covers the secrets to designing show-stopping monochromatic arrangements for each season. She splits her time between Burlingame, California, and Stone Ridge, New York, with her husband, Nathan, and their three children.

Kristin Crosland

Kristin initiated Abreast to support breast cancer patients and their families from the time of diagnosis through intensive treatment and beyond. Abreast curates clinical information and offers an online hub for experience sharing, logistical know how and hope. Kristin describes herself as a breast cancer “warrior” who has been active in care advocacy since her diagnosis five years ago. Kristin spent 10 years at Experien Group, a leading medtech and digital health consulting firm where she was VP of Business Development and later COO. Prior to that, she was a public policy researcher at Stanford and UCLA focused on structural barriers to change in public education.

Maxine Marcus

Maxine Marcus, 17, is the Founder and CEO of The Ambassadors Company, a teen insights, feedback, and consulting company. The Ambassadors Company works with a network of 150 engaged teens who provide raw and honest feedback on products, marketing strategy, branding, and general market research. Outside of her passion for her business, she has a passion for music, and has released a 5 song EP as well as collaborated with R.E.A Music and Slaptop. Maxine has been profiled in Forbes and was invited as a keynote speaker at the Charles Schwab Challenge Convention.

Zoie Burt

Zoie Burt has been traveling through cultures, languages, and the beautiful globe for a little over sixteen years now. She continues her exploration of her identity through reading, collecting, and creating stories with the written word, whether the stories come from her own experiences or from the people she meets during her travels. Her travels have inspired her to never stop seeking a better understanding of why people act the way they do. That inspiration has thus resulted in her love for learning languages and about new cultures. She currently runs a blog on everything to do with stories (from books, travel, and her life) called Whisked Away By Words.
