In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Brittany Morton

Founder of Saved in the City
A native of Nashville, TN, Brittany is an ambitious leader, brand enthusiast and role model. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Alabama A&M University, where she obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees. Currently, Brittany is the founder and executive director of Saved in the City, a faith-based 501c(3) organization designed to encourage and equip youg adult women to live life better together through life groups, retreats, conferences and more. This non-profit, which began as a small group of 5 young ladies on her alma mater's campus has now grown to include thousands of women throughout the country. Brittany is the recipient of Huntsville's AL.com Young Professional Award as well as a graduate of Leadership Huntsville Connect Class 16. She is a lover of people and travels the country, speaking, encouraging others to live their best lives

De'Marco Fomby

Motivational Speaker
For the past 10 years, De'Marco Fomby has been working diligently to live out his passion. He’s spoken to over 1,000 high schools and student organizations across the country. He has a deep passion and drive to inspire and motivate young people to become the absolute best they can be. With his background in music, sports, and mentoring, he pushes teenagers to think for themselves and make choices based on what benefits them in the future, rather than the here and now. He wants teens to understand that there is Power in your Passion, and with that passion we can change the world with our influence.

Eddie Davis Jr.

Senior Soil Scientist for the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service
Eddie E. Davis Jr. is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. In 1998, Mr. Davis moved to Huntsville to attend Alabama A&M University. In 2002, Mr. Davis graduated with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science with a Minor in Chemistry; and in 2004 he received a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional planning, concentration in Environmental Planning. Mr. Davis is currently a Senior Soil Scientist for the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service. Mr. Davis is a member of the Huntsville-Madison County Historical Society. With his interest in history, he has taken an in-depth study into the life of Dr. William Hooper Councill and has published the first biography on the Founder of AAMU entitled, William Hooper Councill: The Greatest Negro the Race Ever Produced. It is the author’s hope that this historic work portrays the legacy of Councill-a former slave in America who would rise to international attainment, and highlight his numerous accomplishments that are still seen over 100 years later.

Joshua Baker

Dynamic Student Speaker
Joshua Baker is a resident of Huntsville, AL. He is a graduate of Columbia High School and a recipient of the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Baker is currently a junior at Alabama A&M University majoring in Social Work. At Alabama A&M, Baker is a member of the Honors Program, Social Work Association, and serves as the President of the Poetry Club for the 2017-2018 academic school year. He has had the opportunity to feature at Out Loud HSV and perform at 100 Thousand Poets for Change Birmingham. He has had work published in Out Loud! HSV: A Year in Review 2016 and Hypertrophic Press. He has also had work featured on Out Loud On Air.

Rodney Smith Jr.

Founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service
Rodney A Smith Jr is a native Bermunda and is a current student at Alabama A&M University where he is pursuing his masters in Social Work. He is the founder of Raising Men Lawn Care Service which is a non-profit organization that is designed to promote awareness for the youth of the future by providing free lawn service for the elderly, disabled, single moms and veterans. In the summer of 2017 Rodney completed his 50 State 50 Lawn Challenge where he traveled to all 50 states and mowed a lawn to promote unity and community service. He is an author and mentor to all who serve with him

Tanisia Moore

Attorney at Law
Attorney Tanisia Moore is no stranger to the practice of law. She has been licensed to practice law since 2010, but virtually opened the doors of Moore Legal Solutions, LLC in January 2017. She advises clients in the area of intellectual property law; specifically trademarks and copyright law. Attorney Moore is a creative, because of that she understands the need to protect not only a person’s brand, but also their creative works through proper registrations, strategic planning, as well as through the right contractual agreements. When she is not busy running her law practice, she blogs about motherhood, pursing passions, married life, and football (Alabama and the Atlanta Falcons to be exact) on “The Write Stuff at the Right Time”. She recently joined the Dynamic Image Publications family as new author. Writing under the pen name, Nisia Skyy, her debut urban romance novel, After the Storm, set to be released March 2018.
