In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alexandros Tataridas

Ο Αλέξανδρος Ταταρίδας είναι απόφοιτος του τμήματος Επιστήμης Φυτικής Παραγωγής του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Στην ομιλία του θα μοιραστεί μαζί μας την έννοια και τα οφέλη που μπορεί να έχει ο εθελοντισμός σε ένα άτομο, αλλά και την επίδραση και διάδοση του σε κοινωνικό και πανεπιστημιακό επίπεδο... όλα αυτά, υπό το πρίσμα του ιδρυτή της πρώτης ομάδας εθελοντισμού του Γεωπονικού! Alexandros Tataridas is a graduate of the Agricultural University of Athens where he studied Crop Science. Inspired from two simple words, “Volunteer” and “University”, he wants to discuss with us the meaning and the benefits of being a volunteer at today’s society, and the importance of bringing people together to work for a good cause. It will be the stage of TEDxAUAthens2018 that he will share his experience from the perspective of the AUA Volunteering team Founder.

Anastasia Sideri

Η Αναστασία Σιδέρη είναι πτυχιούχος του τμήματος Χημικών Μηχανικών του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών και από το 2002 έως σήμερα εργάζεται ως Διευθύντρια Επικοινωνίας και Εταιρικών Υποθέσεων της Coca Cola ΑΕ για την Κεντρική και Νοτιοανατολική Ευρώπη. Είναι, επίσης, Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Women in Bussiness (WIB).

Clement Sceiller

Clement Scellier has a master degree in Marketing and Webmarketing from the EDC Paris Business School. In 2012 with Bastien Rabastens, he created “JIMINI’S”. JIMINI’S is a company with a simple but challenging mission: to bring edible insects to our plates in order to lower the environmental impact of the food industry. Insects are an alternative and significantly sustainable protein source.

Ioannis Baziotis

Ioannis Baziotis is an Associate Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens. He is a graduate of the Geology department at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Ph.D. in the field of Mineralogy and Petrology. Just a few months ago he came back from his trip to Antarctica, which was a life changing exerience. He was there as the first Greek scientist to take part in one of NASA’s Postdoctoral Programs.

Savvas Trichas

Dr Trichas is best known for his popular TEDx talks "May I have your Attention?" and "Knock Yourself Out, or Knock Them Out". He is a powerful keynote speaker that combines cutting edge research with instruction creating motivational moments with practical value. When he’s not on stage, Dr Trichas is on TV analyzing important concepts of his expertise such as body language, leadership, lie detection and psychology of communication. Dr Trichas has collaborated with several prestigious universities and organizations such as Stanford University, the University of Durham, the Bank of Cyprus, and World Vision. He is also associated with the FBI National Academy Associates Cyprus Police where he serves as a guest lecturer under the topics of management, communication, and deception detection. Currently, Dr. Trichas as a part time lecturer at the Open University of Cyprus (Educational Management, postgraduate level), and as a full time instructor at the Ministry of Education and Culture in Cyprus. In addition, he reviews manuscripts for international high-impact scientific journals related with leadership and organizational behavior such as The Leadership Quarterly. His research interest focus in a specific nonverbal area, facial expressions. To be able to do so, he had to study the human face in depth. Consequently he became an official certified coder in the facial action coding system (FACS). FACS is a highly valid, widely used tool that combines anatomy with photo or video analysis observation to define exact facial muscle movement and intensity (Ekman, Friesen, & Hager, 2002; Trichas, 2015).
