TEDWomen 2017 will explore the many aspects of this year's theme: Bridges, through curated TED Talks, interesting conversations and ideas worth spreading in our wonderful city of Hyderabad. We are excited to be convening the 3rd edition of TEDxHyderabadWomen 2017 on November 5th at Wells Fargo, Gachibowli.

At this time of deep divides and rising global challenges, we will hear TED Talks from entrepreneurs, innovators, artists and activists, thought leaders from business and civil society—bridge builders from around the world. Join our exciting speakers and performers for an unforgettable experience!

She is a story-teller, a design thinker, a leader in innovation strategy and product development, who graduated from MIT. She is a social entrepreneur with extensive work in India and United States. Honey is a multiple award winner including the prestigious "Inventor of the Year" 2016 in San Francisco. Honey has developed and delivered outstanding products, including Embrace a low cost baby warmer which has saved over 200,000 babies across 22 countries. Embrace has got multiple awards and accolades including The Economist Innovation Award, Schwab 2013 Social Enterprise of the Year, and the INDEX: Design to Improve Life Award. Apart from Embrace, her kitty consists of products such as Alexandria - an emergency response device for the deaf and hard of hearing (2016), Kisana – an application for farmers to boost agricultural productivity (2007), a manual and solar-powered water-filter for army jawans that converts snow into drinking water (2006) and a device for autistic children to read

Pavithra Y S

Pavithra Ys, is the chairperson and managing director of Vindhya Infomedia, a BPO based in Bangalore. Pavithra started Vindhya, with the mission of bringing “Business and Philanthropy” together. Her organization's employee base majorly consists of people with disabilities (PWD’s) as part of its production staff.Starting as a first generation entrepreneur she has been able to grow the company from 5 PWD’s to close to 1400 employees. Her vision is to employ 5000 people by 2020. Vindhya is unique because it is a "for profit" organisation and has purposefully moved away from the NGO route. Pavithra realised that people with disabilities need an opportunity, not charity, in order to live life with respect. Out of her several awards, some notable ones are - TATA-TiE Stree Shakthi Award 2009, Karnataka State Award from the Disability Department of Government of Karnataka, “100 women achievers Award” under the initiative of the Ministry of women and child welfare department and Special rec

Renuka Chowdhury

Progressive Empowerer
Ms. Renuka Chowdhary is a two-time Union Minister and three-time MP. She is an avid horticulturalist and a fierce champion of women's rights. Ms. Chowdhury displayed her clarity of thought though an eloquent talk delivered at the TEDxHyderabadWoman event held at the Wells Fargo Centre at Gachibowli, Hyderabad. She inspired the audience by revealing personal anecdotes on how she fought misogyny and gender stereotypes both in her personal and professional life. Her talk was peppered with unforgettable quotes like, “If someone does not contribute to your health, your happiness or your bank balance, their opinion doesn’t count.” She received a two-minute standing ovation for her rousing talk.
