Theme: Changing Perceptions of Conceptions

This event occurred on
February 10, 2018
10:00am - 3:00pm EET
(UTC +2hrs)
Cairo, Al Qāhirah
Egypt

Our intent is to present to the audience concepts that they are familiar with and then question how well they actually know it or have thought about it. In a way, we want to give the audience a look at our world in a different view and hence when they leave the event, they leave with a burning sensation of curiosity that is naturally present in younger generations and dims as we grow older.

Ahmed Shaaban

Ever since Ahmed was a kid he always believed there is more beyond what we can see... hidden potentials that are yet to be discovered and limitless abilities that are found within. He took the path of martial arts since the age of 7, from academic study in modern psychology at the university to living in the mountains with the monks learning and discovering the ancient wisdoms. He found himself in a life lasting journey to explore the human potentials; physical, mental and even beyond.

Alyah Mazhar

Alyah is almost 16 and ever since she was young, she has looked up to people who fought for humans rights; Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are a few of those examples. She has always admired their bravery and courage. She truly hopes that one day she could follow in their footsteps and fight for the rights of others just as they did and inspired so many to do the same. Perhaps for now, debating the pressing problems of today in MUN suffices that urge and allows her to kind of follow in their footsteps on a smaller scale.

Amira Yasser

From a young age, I knew that I wanted to leave an impact on the world. I always looked to the future and wanted to fast forward to all the exciting events in my life. I never learned to go through life 1 day at a time; I am either all in or totally out. Life is short, I am busy living my life to care about the past. Although I am only 17 years old, I have a lot of experience that helped me mature faster. My biggest inspiration is my sister. My biggest supporter is my mother. My biggest motivator is my grandmother. Everything I do is to make them proud.

Bishoy Ashraf

80's rock music, epic soundtracks, gaming and reading are all things I enjoy, but what I like the most of all are deep meaningful conversations. I'm Bishoy Zaki, currently in my sophomore year as a medical student who dreams of becoming a researcher one day!

Farah Amir

Playing with crayons at the age of 3 is where Farah Amir's story begins. Like every other kid whose parents would like to entertain, she was given a crayon set; only her mother soon realized that her paint strokes were different from other 3-year-olds. However, drawing and painting were merely her hobby until 3 years ago when she started drawing a proper charcoal portrait. Despite being an overwhelming task, she was enjoying it, and from that day on she knew she wanted to do art for a living. She started with charcoals and ended up with oil on canvas passing by acrylics and oil colors and even gouache, literally every media. Her family is so supportive as they are her No.1 fans and this in turn motivates her to pursue a career in the arts and follow her passion. She regularly joins art exhibitions and has been interviewed several times on TV.

Heidi Sohdy

Heidi is a travel writer who writes stories about her trips around the world as a Solo Egyptian, Muslim and Veiled Girl.

Nada Ali & Tryvina Ayman

To them, singing was never considered just a talent, it is a lifestyle. They enjoy it and they care about making people feel happy.

Saif Khaled

A 17 years old high-school student with varying interests that are often unrelated but ultimately intersecting, conveniently.. one of them is Virtual Reality.

Shahd Medhat

Shahd Medhat has been playing the piano since the young age of 5. She has passed all the music grade exams of Trinity College and is now preparing to take the diploma.

Soha Samir

They say you must try new things and make mistakes because that's how you learn, from experiences. I'm currently making a whole lot of mistakes trying to figure out what's the most convenient way of living. The most important thing is staying positive through it all. I enjoy reading and I find joy in doing random things. Only those who know me too well would join in on the fun. Oh! and just like you believe in Santa or aliens or whatever, I believe in unicorns.
