TEDWomen is a three-day conference about the power of women and girls to be creators and change-makers. The program of speakers, workshops, events — and daring discussions — has sparked some of TED's most iconic moments yet. This year’s TEDWomen event will last 3 days, from November 1 until November 3 2017, and will have the theme of Bridges.

TEDxNishtimanWomen is one-day, independently organized conference that features some of the TEDWomen talks and our own live speakers! The event will be held on November 3rd, including a 1 hour break. We will have 8 speakers.
TEDxNishtimanWomen is a great opportunity to showcase the capabilities and determination of the women in our community.

Avan Jaff

Avan is known for publishing women’s success stories by the name of (Chiroky Sarkawtn), she has received journalism and women empowerment awards. She has worked on women empowerment issue/projects for more than 10 years.

Binayi Ahmad

She was born with a rare disease called Fish scales (Ichthyosis Vulgaris) and she was given several hours to live upon her birth but today she university student. Growing up, facing challenges in the community and even with all of walls, she could be one of the most active girls highly engaged in her community.

Kucher Salih

Kucher Salih was born in Iran, She grew up in a patriotic family and studied in a military. On 30/03/ 2015, she got her certification in military science. Now she is a female Lieutenant . She fought in frontlines against terrorist organization of ISIS ( The Islamic State of Syria and Iraq). Kocher is one of the 10 recipients of Global Hope Coalition award for her fight for women rights.

Payam Shwani

Payam is a Medical student, and received a golden medal from the US Congress.

Shwan Kamal

Shwan is a legal translator and civil activists. Beholds Bachelor degree in English language and literature, and Diploma of mechanic in Sulaymaniyah. some of his achievements include; member of KIE (Kurdish institute for election), project manager of some paper reports with KIE AND POMED Organization, coordinator of Halwest group which is voluntary independent group works on human dignity & dream, and member of pen club in Sulaymaniyah. He participated in many civil activities about women and human rights.

Tanya Khailany

Tanya Gilly Khailany, the co-founder of SEED Foundation and a former parliamentarian in the Iraqi government. Tanya has majored in Political Science in Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She is known for her role in supporting legislations in favor of women’s involvement in the political arena. She was also involved in the Peace (Ashti) Movement that brought together the government parties and the opposition in 2010.

Viyan Mayi

Her life in village inspired Viyan to wonder about the nature and simplicity of people. She directed 5 films, also participated in local and international film festivals. In addition, she launched a traditional music group, which consists of forty girls based in diversity of religion and nations.

Zhyan Saeed

Zhyan left her county in 2005 to Sweden and returned in 2012, during this period her life changed totally. She was 97 kg but now she is the first kurdish fitness woman and zomba trainer. She has her own gym, 7 zomba certificates, 3 fitness certificates.
