Theme: Blue Sky Thinking

At TEDxRayatBahraUniversity, where x denotes independently organized TED event, Speakers from various aspects shall share their ideas and experiences with the community. TEDxRayatBahraUniversity is bringing together one hundred open-minded, creative and forward-thinking individuals that are as fascinating and accomplished as the speakers themselves. They will include business people, educators, artists, homemakers, activists, doctors, lawyers, students, futurists, and every person who is interested in broadening his mind by participating in this event dedicated to Ideas Worth Spreading. We want to expose them to brilliant ideas. With all of these people gathered in one space, it's inevitable that sparks will happen, ideas will find momentum, and positive change will take birth.

Our theme is "Blue Sky Thinking" which basically refers to Creative ideas are not limited by current thinking or beliefs. Thinking outside the box always opens up the mind. Thinking creatively helps people to embrace new ideas and strategies that lead to invention and positive change.

Join us, as TEDxRayatBahraUniversity ensembles endless spirit, intelligence, innovation, culture and humanitarianism under one light. Our endeavour with this is to help people escape the tunnel vision and discover opportunities.

'7ohms d band' is basically a sufi rock band. They follow Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan by heart and beat too. '7ohms d band' have Tapan on lead vocals, Simran on the lead guitar, Gaurav on the bass and Pawan on drums. They started this in the mid of September 2016 with a clear vision of exploring Music and its various forms.

Amit Singh is a self-driven IT governance, risk, compliance, information security, and audit professional currently working as a senior consultant with one of the largest professional services firms in the world. His clients include Fortune 500 firms across a myriad of industries including automotive, manufacturing, energy and financial services. He is a technology enthusiast, and loves to explore how to survive and thrive in technology-driven disruptions. Apart from his full-time job as an IT professional, he works pro-bono for a not-for-profit Kanha Misgan Education Society, where his goal is to bring cutting-edge teaching pedagogies to school students in rural areas of Rajasthan. Raised in his initial years in a small village in south Haryana, he studied in Delhi and then went to Michigan USA for his graduation. After working as a consultant with one of the big fours in the US, he returned to India in 2015.

Someone who originally was never a good cook, but a combination of circumstances, personal choices & the rebel inside her, led her to the kitchen. Starting with her own cooking classes in the city of Mumbai, Meghna juggled between her formal education in culinary world, motherhood, shuffling between India, Philippines & Thailand as the vegetarian menu consultant and planning her venture on YouTube - Meghna's Food Magic. An entrepreneur by nature and coming from business family, Meghna did not enjoy working under anyone, doing shifts & taking orders from seniors; she came to a tipping point that either she does something of her own or not do anything at all. Owner of a Transportation and Earth Mover Company, Danesh Kanagaraj did not let his physical disability to stand in the way of his accomplishments. Struck with muscular dystrophy in 75% of his body he even owned a startup serving top-notch companies like Google, Dell, Samsung, Mahindra, etc, all while graduation and is an active blogger and motivator with thousands of followers.

Deepak Pathania is a stand up comedian & actor. His only aim is to entertain the audience. Deepak do this through the true standard joke formula & function as storyteller too. Deepak has won many laughter shows and also acted in funny Punjabi videos. He is pursuing an MBA in Rayat Bahra University.

Pursuing her passion of dancing from the childhood, Diksha Katoch is a keen performer. She has learnt classical and semi classical dance forms. She is pursuing her post graduate degree in Management from Rayat Bahra University.

Dr. Nabhit Kapur

Psychologist

Dr. Nabhit Kapur, a name to be trusted in the mental health fraternity, has transformed the world of psychology by teaching and training, helping those in need, changing domain from illness to wellness , merging psychology into peace building and much more. Dr Kapur started his journey with a vision in 2016 when he had just started his organisation Peacful mind www.peacfulmind.org The vision being very clear "to redefine the perception towards Psychology", the way it is looked as an area of "crazy people" etc. Moving from one destination to another, this 29 year old man established a name across more than 2 dozen countries, either by creating awareness, establishing networks , or by Collaborating with stakeholders. He also created a world record in promotion of mental health in less than 2 years to more than 29 countries. Dr Kapur is more importantly known for working with people in different sectors with only one motive -to make psychology a household term.

Harlina Sodhi is the head of Culture & Capability at IDFC Bank. She has also worked with Reliance Industries, GE and Genpact. Ms. Sodhi is a Life & Leadership Coach, TEDx speaker, Social Media enthusiast & has won several global awards in 2016 as Most Innovative CLO, Exemplary Women Leader, Top 20 Social Media expert & Gold award from Brandon Hall, SHRM & People Matters for cutting edge practices in Learning, Culture & Social for IDFC Bank. She has strong DNA of Learning, Process & Operational Excellence, Six Sigma and Project Management and High of Digital and Technology orientation. Besides being a speaker at several forum, a columnist, blogger and a very avid social media enthusiast, she tweets on matters such as Leadership, Culture, Employee Engagement/Advocacy, Communication, Diversity and Inclusion, World of Financial Inclusion and is core team member of a volunteering body called “Believe In Yourself".

Harman Singh Sidhu

Harman Singh Sidhu is an Internationally recognised road safety expert. He started an NGO, ArriveSAFE in 2005 and since then his team is working dedicatedly for the cause. Though he is in a wheelchair, he has travelled to 9 countries, Brazil, Belgium, Turkey, USA, Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Italy and Morocco. ArriveSAFE is working closely with United Nations, World Health Organization and Global Road Safety Partnership. Besides this, ArriveSAFE is working in the remote areas of India appraising road users and villagers. As per the mission, Sidhu and his team is working in four remote areas example districts of Bikaner, Churu, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh of Rajasthan. He is a member of Global Alliance of NGOs on Road Safety, Indian Road Congress and State Level Road Safety Councils of Punjab and Chandigarh. He has authored two books, "Road Safety Manual" and "Your Child' Road Safety Partner

Prof. Partha Sarathi Datta

Prof. Datta possesses a career of leadership aiming at improving water and environmental security for agrarian livelihood, in innovative pioneering cutting-edge research and technology development, in higher education and human resources development and in policy and program formulation, execution and appraisal; each pursued in national, regional, and international levels and capacities. Dr. Datta is an Independent Consultant on Water & Environment. He held coveted positions as Project Director (NRL), Professor & Principal Scientist (Hydrology), Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, Scientist In-Charge (Technology Assessment), NISTADS, CSIR, New Delhi, Member Secretary, High Level Technical Committee on Hydrology, Govt. of India, in the context of the International Hydrological Program (IHP/UNESCO), and Asian Regional Coordination Committee on Hydrology (UNESCO) among others.

Sanjeev Kumar Kanchan

Environmentalist

An environmentalist by profession, Mr Sanjeev is involved in research and advocacy at Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi for a decade now. Towards environmental awareness, he researches and writes for various science magazines and journals. He has also authored/co-authored some reputed books on environment and technology issues. In the field of environment, he is associated with organisations like UNEP’s Global Mercury Partnership (Geneva), Source Testing Association (London), Bureau of Indian Standards (India), CEM India-Scientific Committee and Global Reporting Initiative.

Shinjini Kulkarni

Kathak Dancer

Born into the Ninth Generation of the Kalka Bindadin Lineage, Shinjini Kulkarni, the granddaughter of the Kathak Maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj, is a regular performer at the Annual Festival – Vasantotsava. Shinjini has given numerous solo performances and group shows in various cities of India and abroad such as New York, Houston, Westchester, Austin, Milwaukee, Bangkok to name a few. She is also a member of the newly formed pure classical based percussion band –LayaCurry. The band includes the upcoming generation of artists such as Anubrata Chatterjee, S.Swaminathan, Shikhar Naad Qureshi, Esani Dey, I.D Rao. She has begun exploring the field of acting as well. Her most recent project is a kathak based solo song composed by Pt.Bickram Ghosh for the Bengali movie Har Har Byomkesh which completed 100 days in the cinema halls, followed by an advertisement commercial for La’ffaire Sarees, a luxury brand in handloom.
