TEDxIIMBangalore is an event conducted by students of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore since 2013. This year the theme of the event is 'Transformational Ideas'. We intend to bring to our audience some amazing ideas which have been transformational in nature.

Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta

Managing Director - Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd

Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta belongs to the Indian Administrative Service batch of 1986. With over three decades of experience across wide ranging sectors, he has held top positions in the Government of Gujarat as Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Water Supply, and Climate Change departments; Managing Director of Gujarat Tourism, and Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation; and Commissioner of Higher & Technical Education. He holds a Ph.D. in International Law and has also been trained in the United Nations University, Tokyo; University of Melbourne; and Kennedy School, Harvard. Dr. Gupta is Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. The recent 'Neem Project' conceived & executed by him was awarded Porter Prize by Prof.Michael Porter- Harvard Business School, Golden Peacock Award-Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, India CSR Award-Union Minister Athawale. Univ of Chicago- Booth Business School & Harris School of Public Policy has decided to make it a case study.

Dr. T.V. Ramachandra

Professor at Center for Ecological Sciences - Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

Dr. T.V. Ramachandra, FIE, FIE(UK) obtained Ph.D. in Ecology and Energy from Indian Institute of Science. At present, Coordinator of Energy and Wetlands Research Group (EWRG), Convener of Environmental Information System (ENVIS) at Centre for Ecological Sciences (CES). During the past fifteen years, he has established an active school of research in the area of energy and environment (http://ces.iisc.ernet.in/energy). He was a Member of Karnataka State level Environment Expert Appraisal Committee (2007-2010), appointed by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India and a member of Western Ghats task force appointed by the Government of Karnataka. He is a recipient of Energy Legend (2011), Energy Engineer ((international) 2009) of Association of Energy Engineers (USA), Johny Biosphere Award for Ecology and Environment (2004) and Satish Dhawan Young Scientist Award, 2007 of Karnataka State Government. TVRs research interests are in the area of energy systems, renewables.

Founder Managing Trustee at Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, Vice-President-World Blind Cricket Council

Social change agent, disability leader, and role model, through his efforts over the last 20 years, positively impacted the lives of thousands of persons with disabilities. Overcoming challenges presented by his visual impairment, he has leveraged his determined academic accomplishments, an MA MPhil in English Literature. Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, the president of World Blind Cricket and, President Cricket Association for the Blind in India, The Aryabhatta International Award in 2009 and the National Award from the President of India for Child Welfare in 2010 and 2014, he and his team have successfully hosted the first ever T20 world cup cricket for the blind in 2012 and 2nd T20 World cup in 2017. Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled a National award winning NGO is a registered Trust working for the empowerment of persons with disabilities, especially persons with visual and physical impairments and underserved people since 1997.

Mr. Iyengar is currently a Partner with Forum Synergies PE Fund managers, a private equity fund focused on investing in Indian businesses across Manufacturing, ICT and Consumer sectors. Mr. Iyengar is also a personal investor, advisor, and mentor in both public and private initiatives that emphasize Impact and Innovation. His involvements include Goa-Israel collaboration, AP Fintech Valley, STPI incubation, Dept of Science and Tech, Ventures in aerospace, data sciences, enterprise software, media, social change, psephology, fin tech, financial literacy and Robotics/AI. His prior experience includes: Global Partner and India CEO of Ada Investments, a hedge fund.

Sreenivasa is part of a founding team of an alternative integrated learning center, Purnapramati, whose vision is to identify and nurture the Svadharma (natural and individualized diversity) of each Pūrṇapramati-iya through integrated learning within and across Ādhibhautik (physical) Ādhidaivik (mental) and Ādhyātmik (spiritual) dimensions for Bīja-rakṣā of Paramparā (preserving the seeds of traditional knowledge and values) In other words, the kind of task taken up involves building a culture of taking paramparā-s that animate the vibrant diversity of our motherland India, that is Bhārat seriously by educating the younger generations of the liveness in them in spite of the rapid advance of modernity envisaged as break from tradition. The attempt is directed at a possible rejuvenation of the paramparā-s by identifying their respective bīja-s (seminal seeds), preserving and propagating them.
