Project 10

The dance and performance group "Project 10" considers social responsibility a topic we should all deal with. When contemplating this issue, questions about our security and our own comfort arise: Do we feel safe in the society we live in? There are structures in every person’s environment that reflect the longing for acceptance and trust in other people. Now more than ever we should have the heart to confront others and show them how vulnerable we are. By doing so we can build trust in order to connect to world in the right way.

Ali Can

Ali Can is a 23-year-old author, intercultural peacebuilder and founder of the Interkultureller Frieden e.V. In 2014 Ali noticed that - as more refugees were arriving - an angry and worried discourse was growing ever louder. Convinced that the breeding ground for xenophobia and rightist ideology is partly based on a deep-rooted fear and ignorance of the ‚unknown’, he actively started to approach those who are vocally opposed to ‚those’ refugees. Since then Ali is trying to find creative ways to facilitate respectful encounters in order to break down prejudices. For example, his “Hotline für besorgte Bürger” where he seeks to overcome people’s fear of refugees and establish a meaningful dialogue between different parties.

Amir Kfir

Dr. Amir Kfir is co-author of the book “Nonflict – the Art of Everyday Peacemaking”. The book deals with bringing peace dialogue into complex conflicting groups and learning how to put oneself in the other person’s shoes in order to develop empathy. This empathy comes with a deeper understanding of how to manage the needs of another person you are in conflict with. Dr. Amir Kfir is an organizational psychologist and management change leader who works in over 40 countries. For 25 years, Amir has been helping companies worldwide in organizational transformation and has been the leader of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) forum methodology process. He has also facilitated Peace Action Forums globally.

Ben Decosse

Ben Decosse is an adventure-seeking, idea-generating community builder. A free spirit at heart, he is passionate about creating meaningful social connections that facilitate rewarding environments for both clients and the TIMBERCOAST community. He prides himself on being an enabler for others and is focused on connecting the AVONTUUR with cargo and crew. Ben is driven by the belief that together we can model a new path forward towards a healthy shipping culture.

Benedikt Böhm

Mountaineer & international Director of ski brand Dynafit
Benedikt Böhm is globally responsible for the outdoor ski brand Dynafit, the global market leader in ski touring equipment. He specialized in radical speed climbing laced with daredevil ski runs off the highest peaks in the world. He does not use artificial oxygen or any other kind of outside help. With his speed climbs up the highest mountains of the world, Böhm stands for a new and uncompromising generation of athletic mountaineers who minimize risk through speed

Carsten Buck

With his first book "Zombie Design", the Hamburg-based designer Carsten Buck enters a difficult terrain. He is looking for a new third way between the radically reduced consumption as demanded by the representatives of post-growth ideology and the unconscious consumerism of our time. In his talk for TEDxMünchen 2017 Carsten illustrates the structures of a design-driven economic order that is oriented towards the needs of people and environment alike.

Ernst Krendlinger

Dr. Krendlinger is a Chemical Scientist in charge of the research and development department at DEUREX AG, a leading supplier of industrial waxes of all types. He is also the winner of the European Inventor Award 2017. At TEDxMünchen 2017 Dr. Krendlinger talked about his invention that can change the way oil and chemicals are reclaimed after a potentially devastating spill. The product’s nickname is “Zauberwatte”. Once you have heard his talk, you will know why.

Hannah Hull

Hannah Hull is an artist and researcher specialising in socially-engaged practice. She currently holds a PhD Studentship at ICCE (Institute of Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship), Goldsmiths, University of London – where she also completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and PGCert Innovation in Practice. Hannah is a situationspecific artist, creating social sculptures and political interventions. Her work is often dialogue-based and temporal. She is interested in empowering individuals to creatively and critically intervene with their world. She is also a crazy person

Ido Garini

Ido Garini is the founder and creative director of the experience design agency - Studio Appétit. He is known world wide as a pioneer in the integration of culinary art and the act of eating within the contemporary world of design, hospitality and marketing. As a multidisciplinary designer and chef, he aspires to break the boundaries of consumer experience, and explore new ways to connect people with themselves, others, and with brands. At TEDxMünchen 2017 Ido will take us on a journey into the sensorial, emotional and sexual aspects of food and how that made contemporary food culture a modern day religion.

Jona Christians

Jona Christians and Laurin Hahn started constructing their own electric car in 2012. At that time, electromobility was in its infancy and a cheap, simple electric car was a rarity. But pointing at others was not an option, so they set themselves up to develop such a vehicle. Meanwhile, a company evolved from the project and together with an exceptional team, they will bring the “Sion” into production in 2019.

Martin Riedel

Joining the WARR Hyperloop team in December 2015, Martin was quickly fascinated by the motivation and passion driving a student team towards building a fully functional prototype. Infected by the motivation, Martin became responsible for electrical and control systems ever since. In the meantime, Martin is currently pursuing his MA degree in Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich

Matthew Matilda

Matthew Matilda is an English/German indie folk, rock band formed in Munich, Germany. They consist of singer/songwriter Matthew Austin from Manchester, UK, cellist Matilda Pfeiffer from Munich, Germany and drummer Johannes Rothmoser from Munich, Germany. Youtube text: The band’s mix of blues, folk, classical and jazz influences creates an unique atmosphere with their rough yet sensual vocal performance. Soulful harmonies help draw pictures filled with social criticism and ironic story telling. Influences such as Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and Nina Simone can be heard as well traditional blues sounds, without forgetting Austin’s roots in a lively Manchester music scene.

Ran Gavrieli

Ran Gavrieli is an educator, lecturer and founder of the ELSE method (Eye Level Sex Education). He writes and lectures about „emotionally and physically safe sex" at schools, universities, military bases, companies and academic forums worldwide. Ran sees himself as a feminist activist for social justice, gender equality and abolition of the sex industry. His TEDx talk „Why I stopped watching porn“, that connects the dots between trafficking in women, prostitution and pornography, reached more than 17 million viewers worldwide

Remo Largo

Remo Largo is one of the most famous paediatricians in Europe and author of educational textbooks. Since 1978 he led the department "Growth and Development" at the University Children's Hospital Zurich. He is the author of numerous scientific bestsellers dealing with human development. Remo Largo's books are considered classics of educational literature. At TEDxMuenchen 2017 Remo Largo is going to speak about the findings that led to his new quintessential book „Das passende Leben“.

Rocío Lorenzo

Rocío Lorenzo is a Partner in BCG's Munich office. For the last ten years, Rocío has worked extensively in telecommunications and media, advising large companies on strategy development, growth programs and customer experience. She is the author of several studies on diversity, like "Innovation through Diversity: The Mix that Matters". Additionally, Rocío leads BCG’s Women's Initiative in Munich.

Thomas Scheibel

Prof. Dr. Thomas Scheibel is professor for biomaterials at the University of Bayreuth, Germany and co-founder of the biotech company AMSilk. His interdisciplinary research focuses on biogenic materials. He is mostly known for his work on spider silk. We’re excited to hear his view on Spiderman and how artificial spider silk can improve our daily life at the TEDxMünchen 2017.

Ulrike Guérot

Besides leading the department for European Policy and the Study of Democracy, Ulrike is the founder of the European Democracy Lab in Berlin, dedicated to the idea of a European Republic. Prior to that she has worked in several international think-tanks. In 2016 she published her book “Why Europe needs to become a Republic! A political utopia”.
