In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Doug Dietz

Principal Design Thinker at GE healthcare
Doug is currently the ‘Principal Design Thinker’ at GE Healthcare. He has influenced the process of designing diagnostic imaging equipment to embrace the empathy gathered from the patient experience. Using Human Centered Design Doug, and his team, have transformed the hospital experience away from scary to allow for families to actually have a smile on their face and stay positive in moments that matter.

Zahra Arabzada is a junior at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York and graduated from St. George's School in 2015. She calls herself the Hijabi runner as she wants to use the sport to break the stereotype of Muslim women and to inspire others.
