Before the industrial and technical revolutions, the Earth could help the inflicted humans. Today, however, human activities compromise the ecosystems of the planet, forcing the "planetary boundaries" to the limit. In 2050, 30% of the Earth's species will be extinct and the glaciers of the Himalayas will melt at alarming speeds. However, if people decide to pursue qualitative economic growth rather than quantitative, humanity can continue to prosper for 150,000 years. This election requires the interest of man ahead of selfishness.

"We humans, we have an extraordinary potential of goodness, but also an immense power to hurt."

"What is altruism? It is the desire: let others be happy and find the cause of happiness."

Are we selfish humans in an innate way? Many studies have found that people enjoy helping others and working together to achieve mutually beneficial goals. People establish social relationships as their greatest source of happiness, ahead of money.

To feed an altruistic culture throughout the world, individuals and societies have to undergo changes. Training in altruism causes functional and biological alterations in the human brain. People who practice meditation of consciousness for 20 minutes a day experience brain transformations after only four weeks. While altruistic changes to human biology are possible, "cultures ... change more quickly than genes."
