Theme: Forward

This event occurred on

A well-known, rarely observed, yet habitually used Indonesian principle is 'moving forward'. Teachers use it to introduce the relationship between individual and nation. University professors use it to inspire pupils to build the country. And politicians use it to evoke nationalistic fervor from crowds. However, younger generations rarely interpret this principle into actionable ideas.

The thought of Forward is engrained in the minds of all Indonesian children ever since the country's independence, but we rarely discuss the potential of its meaning. Is it entirely a patriotic principle? If so, then how should communities and individuals act to fully realize it? If not, then what does it mean solely on an individual level? This is what TEDxUniversitasPrasetiyaMulyaJakarta aims to explore by bringing together thought leaders, visionaries, and artists from around Jakarta to share their own personal Forward stories.
