Ailbhe + Lisa - Mayfield Arts Centre

Ailbhe is an artist in residence at the Mayfield Arts Centre since 2009 and works as part of the Cúig team (Cúig Creativity Unlimited an Integrated Group). Ailbhe takes inspiration from movies, TV, popular culture and the world around her. She continuously experiments with various media and materials. She creates unique paintings, drawings and sculptures with her distinctive line and mark making.
Lisa Fingleton is the Manager of the Mayfield Arts Centre and is also an artist and filmmaker. Mayfield Arts Centre is a fully accessible arts centre with supported studios, large workshop spaces, offices and a gallery. It is surrounded by an organic garden with its very own pizza oven and outdoor eating area. Built by local residents twenty years ago, visitors often describe it as an oasis or sanctuary. There is a tangible creative energy in the space with a dynamic sense of possibility, inclusion, diversity and spontaneity. It is a place where ideas converge and minds expand through creative explorations and collaborations.
Dowtcha Puppets Youth Ensemble
Dowtcha Puppets was formed in 2002. ‘More Than A Nuff’ was their first production and premiered at the Cork Midsummer Festival. After the success of that production Dowtcha began to expand their repertoire of Puppet shows and, have been performing them nationwide ever since. The Dowtcha Youth Ensemble was established in 2015 and is a group for young theatre makers (between the age of 12 and 23 ) who have an interest in puppetry.
Fiona Kearney - The Glucksman
Fiona Kearney is a curator, writer and academic. She is Director of the Glucksman, an internationally significant art space on the campus of University College Cork that programmes exhibitions and events for all ages and abilities. The Glucksman creates dialogue between university research themes and contemporary culture, with a particular emphasis on the role of visual media in communicating knowledge.
Fiona has received several distinguished awards including bursary awards from the Arts Council of Ireland, the NUI Prix d'Honneur from the French Government, a UCC President’s Award for Research on Innovative Forms of Teaching, and a Fulbright scholarship.
William Frode de la Foret - Cork Community Art Link
William Frode de la Foret is an undisciplined artist born in France making art with people in various contexts since 1993.
William has developed, directed and facilitated a number of long term arts programmes with Cork Community Art Link since 1993 including a 10 year programme in Our Lady’s psychiatric hospital Cork, and "What if" (whatif.ie) a programme exploring participatory public art practice.
He has 23 years experience in developing community street performances, including street theatre performances and parades such as “The Dragon of Shandon Samhain Parade“ which celebrated its 10th year in 2016 with 500 participants and an estimated audience of 15000.
His practice is shaped by his belief that the arts represent an infinite field of possibilities for people and cannot be reduced to academic, institutional and market driven conceptions and that everybody has the right to create art, to engage with the making of culture and its representation on one’s own terms.
