Aathavan Subakumar

Student Researcher

Through the Honours programme at the school, Aathavan has been exploring the side effects of household painkillers. He has sought answers to the following question: is it possible to achieve a reduction of side effects in household painkillers such as paracetamol and ibuprofen, the abuse of which is an ever-increasing problem worldwide?

Baden U'Ren

Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship, Bond Business School

Baden has varied experience in industry, having progressed through NAB's graduate development program, run his own fashion wholesale business in the United States, performed capital raising for business acquisitions, managed a pooled investment fund, and worked at the inception of QIC's Private Equity program. Baden's PhD is in the field of Finance and his passion lies in early stage ventures.

Clarence Tan

Innovator, Author, Speaker

Dr Clarence N.W. Tan is the founder of Bond Wireless, a Queensland-based award-winning wireless software applications and services company. He is the recipient of the Queensland government prestigious Entrepreneur in Residence Fellowship for 2010 at Bond University and the Gold Coast Innovation Centre at Griffith University which enables him to strengthen the ICT sector in Queensland by assisting private enterprises to work with the academia in commercializing their technology and getting them investor as well as export ready. Dr Tan has also been the Principal Research Fellow in a AUD2 million joint Queensland government, Coastalcom, Lifesaving Australia and Griffith University beach safety monitoring and modeling project in 2009.

Isabelle Doo

Isabelle has a keen intellect and talent in engineering solutions to local issues. She has been working on a solution to the problem of rip-tides on the beach. Isabelle has applied science and technology, well beyond her current age group, to develop an effective solution to this issue that could potential provide assistance to the great work of life-savers.

Lucas Dugdale

Student Researcher

Lucas is a dedicated student who has a strong interest and passion for virtual reality (VR). Over the past few years, Lucas has explore the application of VR to education through as part of his Honour research projects. He has developed a new technological solution that could change established education systems and discusses how schools can get ready for it.

Maya Bose

Student Researcher

Maya is a keen science and technology student who has explored the application of micro-computers and robotics to solving real-life problems. She has been particularly interested in developing technological solutions to natural disasters that can happen in the home. Maya, along with her teammates, has explored the issues people face when face with disaster at home and designed an innovative solution to assisting them.

Olivia Schmidt

Student Researcher

Olivia has worked on a variety of technological projects in her time at the College, utilising Arduino technology and sensors to solve practical real-life problems. Olivia has developed a practical solution to people who face dangers from potential attackers either in a home invasion or out on the street.

Ruby Storey

Student Researcher

Ruby has been a committed member of the Arduino Group over the past two years, exploring practical implementations of Arduino micro-computers to real-life situations. She has designed and developed a few systems that integrate Arduino micro-computers to industrial applications. Ruby, along with her teammates, has explored the issues people face when face with disaster at home and designed an innovative solution to assisting them.

An experienced and passionate educator who has a keen interest in how physical education can affect brain function, focus and improve academic achievement. Steven runs a proficient team of educators at A.B. Paterson College, exploring innovative approaches to pedagogy and student engagement.
