In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Abdullah Ahmed

Founder and CEO of CricFlex, Abdullah Ahmed is a Pakistani innovator, researcher and entrepreneur. Abdullah has three research publications in peer-reviewed IEEE conferences with his latest research presented at MIT, USA. For his achievements, Abdullah has been awarded Prime Minister's Bronze Medal, Rector's Gold Medal in academia and Pakistan's Innovator of the Year Award, 2015. He is also a Rajeev Circle Fellow.

Ahmer Naqvi

Ahmer is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of the Content team at Patari, a music streaming site that aims at creating a unique space for Pakistani music. He is also a freelance writer for Cricinfo, Dawn and Newsline.

Amina Rizwan

A recipient of Fulbright Scholarship, Amina Rizwan is a graduate of MFA in Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Arts in Michigan, USA. Currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Jewellery Design and Gemological Sciences at Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore. Amina’s work has been exhibited at Galerie Marzee, Netherlands, Cranbrook Art Museum and Forum Gallery, Michigan, Macy’s Gallery, Columbia University, New York and Pakistan National Council of Arts, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Arshad Faruqui

Arshad Faruqui is an architect and a landscape designer based in Karachi. He is one of the founding members of Pursukoon Karachi, an organisation formed in reaction to the violence and deteriorating conditions in Karachi. Aside from his involvement in social causes, Arshad finds most satisfaction in designing tableware, fountains and furniture under the banner of his design house Copper and Steel.

Danielle Sharaf

Danielle Sharaf is among the leading young technology entrepreneurs of Pakistan. She is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Switch-ITC - a multifaceted value added services (VAS) company.

Nishat Riaz

Nishat Riaz is the Director Education at British Council Pakistan and a social activist. She is also one of the founding members of Karakoram International University - the first university in mountain ranges of Karakoram and Himalayas, Pakistan. She holds an engineering degree in Electronics and Communications and has the unique distinction of being the first female engineer from Gilgit Baltistan.
