In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Cousin

Daan Couzijn is a 23 year old vocalist and installation artist who creates and performs electronic music under the pseudonym of Cousin. His electronic sounds dip into minimalistic ambient and trip-hop styles balanced out by some experimental key changes and his own angelic vocals.

Alpha Sennon

Alpha Sennon is the founder and executive director of WhyFarm. Sennon graduated with first class honours with major Agribussines and minors Communication-Extension and Entrepreneurship from the University of the West Indies.His focus lies in the re-branding and marketing of agriculture within the Carribean region.Alpha invented the world’s first, and currently, only ‘Food and Nutrition Security Superhero Team’ lead by ‘AGRIman PhotosyntheSista’. With the help of these characters he and his team increase the awareness of our world’s food problems.

Arna Mackic

Arna Mackic originates from Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1993, when she was only a five-year-old child, she fled the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina together with her parents, twin brother and older sister. They made a new life in The Netherlands. When they arrived they were placed in an asylum seekers center. She won a drawing contest organized by Vluchtelingenwerk with a sketch of the ancient bridge over the Neretva River in Mostar (Stari Most) and now Arna works as a specialist in reconstruction architecture.

Ermi van Oers

Ermi van Oers (1991) graduated Cum Laude at Willem de Kooning Academy in 2016, where she studied product design. In the last year of her study, she focussed on the connection between human, nature and technology with her ‘Living Light’ projects.

Frederike Ambagtsheer

"Frederike Ambagtsheer is the initiator and coordinator of the HOTT project. She studied Criminology and Public International Law and finished her PhD on organ trade cum laude in 2017. Until 2014 she was the coordinator of the European Platform on Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial aspects of Transplantation (ELPAT). In addition, she has worked for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in the department of human trafficking for organ removal. From September 2017 until February 2018, she will continue her research as a visiting scholar at the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northeastern University in Boston (USA). "

Jim Stolze

Jim Stolze is a tech entrepreneur at Amsterdam Science Park. He is the founder of Aigency, a platform for useful Artificial Intelligence. In 2016 he graduated from the Executive Program at Singularity University, located at Nasa Ames Research Park (California).

Junadry Christmary Leocaria

" Eye-catching appearance Junadry Leocaria (1985, Willemstad) is a strong urban dancer, specialized in waacking. She has been working in the professional theater/dance field for over 13 years. Junadry has been part of the urban theater dance company ISH for 8 years and performed in several shows for the urban dance company Don’t Hit Mama. Leocaria is a talented key figure in the Dutch urban theatre scene and with her expressive and powerful way of moving she knows how to catch your attention. The past years Junadry has been working as a choreographer, coach and teacher. In her own choreographies she searches for ways to bring varied styles together in an organic way while she explores themes like self-acceptation, struggles, love for yourself and the will to grow as a person."

Kate Imbach

"Kate Imbach is a writer and documentary film maker based in Amsterdam, she is currently working on a MFA in creative writing from New York University. "

Keith French

"Landscape architect Keith French joined Grant Associates, an international landscape architecture consultancy group, in 1997. He became a Director of Grant Associates in 2005 and has a particular interest in combining innovation and creative ecology in landscape architecture. He is currently Project Director for Wimbledon 2020 Masterplan, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, as well as the public realm strategy for Middlehaven in Middlesbrough; the masterplan and development of St Paul’s School; ITE campus and Headquarters in Singapore; and Capitol development, Singapore."

Koert van Mensvoort

"Dr. Koert van Mensvoort is an artist and philosopher best known for his work on the philosophical concept of Next Nature, which revolves around the idea that our technological environment has become so complex, omnipresent and autonomous that it is best perceived as a nature of its own. It is his aim to better understand our co-evolutionary relationship with technology and help set out a track towards a future that is rewarding for both humankind and the planet at large. "

Lester Arias

"Graduate from SNDO (School for New Dance Development) in Amsterdam, Lester Arias studied fine arts (at the Cristobal Rojas School of Fine Arts), acting (at the Juana Sujo School for Scenic Arts) and modern dance (at the UNEARTE - National Experimental University of Arts), all this in Caracas, Venezuela. He recently won two important awards as theatre-maker in Belgium and Holland (at the Theater Aan Zee Festival and Moving Forward Festival). He teaches at SNDO and has also taught at the Venezuelan National Dance Company, at the UNEARTE and the Icelandic Dance Company. Finally, as maker, he's starting a collaboration with Frascati Theater; one of the principal production houses in the Amsterdam's Performance and Theatre scene. He’s a multidisciplinary artist that works within the fields of electronic music, singing, and drama, video-art, graphic design; all of this through the lens of movement."

Lotte Milder

"Lotte Milder (1990) graduated from the Maastricht Theatre Academy in 2016 as a performer. Lotte has always been driven by a great curiosity: How and where are different worlds able to meet and interact with each other? Driven from this curiosity Lotte has always moved on several areas within performing arts, fashion, film and photography. Thus, her experience began at an internship with the theatre group Wunderbaum, where her passion to combine her skills as a performer and maker originated. After that she was seen regularly in the works of director Sophie Mantel, choreographer Guilherme Miotto and in her own catwalk performances during Fashionclash Festival. Over the past few years she appeared in the film and photo works of the artists Mats Logen and her sister Karlijn Milder. Together with Mats Logen and Karlijn Milder, she works at studio AKATAK. AKATAK is a creative studio that works within the field of visual arts. The studio focuses on high end film, photography and performance art. AKATAK always strives to turn a narrative into a unique experience and uses multiple disciplines."

Sanne de Wilde

"Belgian photographer Sanne De Wilde (Antwerp, 1987) completed her bachelor degree at Konstfack, Stockholm (SE) and graduated as Master in the Fine Arts at KASK in Ghent (BE) with great honours in 2012. Her work has been rewarded with an impressive amount of awards and prizes and has been internationally published (The Guardian, New Yorker, Vogue) and exhibited (Tribeca Film Festival, Circulations, IDFA). Since 2013 De Wilde is working as a photographer for Amsterdam-based newspaper and magazine, De Volkskrant. "

Thijs van Vuure

"Thijs van Vuure studied biology and philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. After his master's degree, he studied instrumental performance and music composition at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Utrecht, and fine arts at the Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam. Thijs van Vuure creates projects where art, philosophy and science and their reciprocal influences are a central theme. Next to his own projects, he makes site responsive performances and installations as a part of The Walden Collective, an interdisciplinary collective with which he performs internationally. Next to this he composes music for theater and plays music in several formations."
