We are wise to treat children as experts, even if emerging experts. This TedX event brings together a collection of student voices that have developed an expertise that can help guide the thinking and decisions of other folk. 100 tickets will be available. Tickets are free!

Cait Quinn

High School Student
I am an exuberant and full of life young woman who has more dreams than hair follicles. As a junior in high school, I am involved in many things such as hockey, marching band, student council and a handful of other things. My schedules are packed full and I love staying on my feet. With my free time, I love being up north or just taking a hike around different state parks. In the past years, I have learned to play guitar and have even started to write music. As far as my future, all I know is that I will be playing college hockey somewhere, and I am completely undecided about a major just due to the simple fact that I could be successful in many diverse career fields. When it all comes down to it, I am blessed to have the life I do, and living with peace, love and happiness is what I do best.

Destiny Nathan

High School Student
I am an African American who enjoys being creative. You can often find me drawing, writing stories or teaching myself the piano. During the school year, I participated in Japan Quiz 2018 at Normandale Community College, and my team got 3rd place. I am an advocate for equality and took part in a local MarchForOurLives walk out. Doing this TEDx Youth Talk is important to me because I want everyone to be treated equally and would like to help others on that journey.

Olivia Tracy

High School Student
I am currently a high school senior and I plan to attend the University of St. Thomas to study elementary education. Once I graduate college, I would like to use my degree to work for schools that help change our world for the better. I am currently very passionate about bettering the environment and the wildlife that we share this earth with. I plan to continue supporting these causes as an adult and would love to become a teacher in a school that shares my values.

Savannah Smith

High School Student
I am a 17 year old junior at Armstrong High School. I love reading, swimming, yoga, and spending time with my friends and family. I play the violin in my school's Symphony Orchestra, and I volunteer as a peer minister at my church. I speak fluent Spanish, am currently taking a course in Spanish literature. I coach artistic and rhythmic gymnastics for preschool through school-age kids at my part-time job. I like deep conversations and being outside, and I'm passionate about self-reflection, mindful living, and choosing joy.

Valeria Flores Santisbon

High School Student
My name is Valeria and I’m a current junior in high school. I am part of the school choir and I’m involved in the drama department. I have always enjoyed science and books, but performing arts also have an important place in my life. I plan to major in Biomedical engineering, or a STEM related field, after high school.
