In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Niagara

Musicians
Niagara is an electronic band founded by the Turin-based experimental-pop pioneers Davide Tomat and Gabriele Ottino to explore the territories that lie outside the boundaries of electronic music. Combining alternative electronica, darktinted psychedelia and funk, with sweeping arrangements complimenting spluttering rhythms and booming electronics.

Alexandre Bavard

Alexandre Bavard is a Paris-based visual artist and graffiti writer. His research blends writing with more traditional art forms such as sculpture and dance. One of his latest performances, Bulky, was recently staged at the prestigious Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

Andrea De Benedetti

Journalist, writer and linguist Andrea De Benedetti, is author of several studies and publications appeared on the pages of newspapers and magazines including il Manifesto, D – La Repubblica delle Donne, Guerin Sportivo, GQ and Rai Radio 1. Among his books: Val più la pratica. Piccola grammatica immorale della lingua italiana (Laterza, 2009) and La situazione è grammatica (Perché facciamo errori, perché è normale farli) (Einaudi, 2015).

Andy Lomas

Digital Artist
Formerly television and film CG supervisor, Andy Lomas is a digital artist with a mathematical background and a special interest in morphogenesis. He won a number of prizes including two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Special Visual Effects. His works were exhibited internationally, including displays at The Royal Society, the SIGGRAPH, and in V&A’s permanent collection.

Barbara Covili

Barbara Covili is an Italian entrepreneur. She has a degree in Political Science and a PhD in Comparative Political History at the University of Bologna with several study periods at the University of Oxford. She is a public reporter and founded in 2005 the Clickutility company (then Clickutility on Earth), of which she has been CEO until 2015.

Eric Rodenbeck

Entrepreneur and designer Eric Rodenbeck is the founder of independent mapping and data visualization studio Stamen Design. From his base in San Francisco’s Mission District he thinks about cities and how they work. Through connecting design with civic duty, people with place, and passion with data, Eric fulfils his mission of being an ambassador of San Francisco values: openness, inclusiveness, experimentation, and a damn good party.

Fabiana Zollo

Researcher
Fabiana Zollo is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, where she is fellow member of the Laboratory of Data Science and Complexity. Her research focuses on information and misinformation spreading, and on the evolution of collective narratives on social media.

Isabella Potì

Isabella Potì pursued her career working with international well-known chefs such as Cloude Bosi, Martin Berasategui and Paco Torreblanca. In 2016 she won the prize Best Emergency Chef from the South, created by Luigi Cremona, while in 2017 she has been included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Art category. She is considered one of the ten most influential women in the Italian cuisine scene.

Luca del Monte leads the ESA Space Economy focusing on innovation and the development of a new generation of space entrepreneurs, new Public-Private Partnerships concepts and the economic dimension of space missions. He is in charge of cyber security projects to protect ESA space missions, and responsible for the development of the ESA European Space Security and Education Centre.

Mahzarin R. Banaji

Mahzarin R. Banaji is a social psychologist teaching at Harvard University. She studies the disparities between conscious expressions of values, attitudes and beliefs on the one hand, and less conscious, implicit representations of mental content. In 2016 she was granted the William James Fellow Award for her outstanding contributions to psychology.

Raffaele Alberto Ventura is an Italian writer, author of the popular blog “Eschaton”. His articles have appeared on Linus, Internazionale, IL and Pagina 99. His first book, Teoria della classe disagiata, was published in 2017 by Minimum Fax.
