In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Gabrielle Bosche

Proclaimed to be “America’s Millennial Expert”, Bosche works to demystify the generation of Millenials and foster inter-generational collaboration in the workplace. She has advised companies across the globe, developed Millennial engagement strategies for presidential campaigns, and published three books centered around understanding Millennials.

Jose Segura

Segura is the team leader for the Street Outreach Network, a Montgomery County gang intervention program. Raised in Washington, D.C., he moved to Wheaton, MD with his family at the age of 12 to avoid the pervasive influence of drugs and crime in the city. After serving for 8 years in the United States Marine Corps, Segura has dedicated himself towards establishing programs to help underserved youths live safer and more meaningful lives.

Mike Worden

Worden is the Founder and President of The Player Progression Academy, a youth sports academy in the D.C. metropolitan area. He is also the Founder and Chairman of Open Door Sports, a non-profit organization focused on providing quality sports programming for underserved communities. With the goal of making people everywhere happy, Mike has focused on using sports as a mechanism to build and improve communities.

Samuel Ramsey

An entomologist at the University of Maryland, Ramsey works to better understand the behavior of parasitic and predatory insects. In the past, he has delved into understanding the biting behavior of ladybugs and wasps. He is currently studying the Varroa mite, an arachnid that is one of the leading causes of honeybee death in the US.

Simeone Tartaglione

Having been a conductor for orchestras in Italy, the United States, Spain, Russia, Romania, Mexico, Ukraine and Bulgaria, Tartaglione is a cosmopolitan musician with an incredibly versatile set of musical abilities. Tartaglione is currently a symphony conductor at the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras of Strathmore, and also holds many other distinguished positions in the mid-Atlantic orchestral scene.
