In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Christopher See

Christopher took his medical degree at Trinity College, Cambridge University, and then worked as a junior doctor in Accident and Emergency. He completed a PGCE in clinical education with the University of Edinburgh, and went on to take a teaching post in Manchester University Medical School where he received the Excellent Teacher Award. He is currently completing his PhD research in innovation in medical education, focusing on e-learning and game-based learning at the University of Hong Kong.

David Yeung

David is the co-founder of Green Monday, a social enterprise group that promotes and enables green, healthy and sustainable living. Through his vegetarian promotion and food rescue initiatives, Green Monday has become a world leading platform that enables corporations, restaurants, schools, and individuals to join efforts in reducing our carbon footprint and performing our social and environmental responsibilities.

Doris Leung

Doris is the Founder and CEO of Diamond Cab and Director of Social Innovation at Social Ventures Hong Kong. Doris is a journalist turned social entrepreneur, with 16 years of past experience working with i-Cable as a TV host and reporter. Having experienced difficulties travelling with her wheelchair-bound mother, Doris was determined to set up her own social enterprise – Diamond Cab, introducing 5 wheelchair-accessible taxis to Hong Kong in 2011. Diamond Cab was established with a social mission to provide much-needed, quality point-to-point transport to the disabled, elderly and able-bodied, and has a team of 20 dedicated drivers with a caring heart to promote wellbeing of the wheelchair-bound.

Jo Hayes

After twenty years working in the education sector and developing digital products for language learners, Jo has now focused her career on championing gender equality and advancing women leaders as Director of Pipeline Initiatives at The Women’s Foundation. Jo Hayes is Director of Pipeline Initiatives at The Women’s Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong. Jo overseas the programmes, partnerships and other initiatives that support the development of the pipeline of female talent in Hong Kong for executive and non-executive roles. Prior to working at The Women’s Foundation, Jo worked for BBC Worldwide and the British Council. At BBCW as Head of Audio Visual Production, ELT she oversaw all educational media creation for BBC English in Asia. As Editorial Manager for the British Council, she managed their widest reaching global digital product for children learning English, the LearnEnglish Kids website. In addition to working at The Women’s Foundation, Jo is highly committed to Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and advancing future leaders through mentoring on programmes such as the University of Birmingham Alumni Mentoring Programme and the Cherie Blair Mentoring Programme for Women in Business.

Quinn Lai

Quinn is a serial entrepreneur in Hong Kong and the United States. He was also Hewlett Packard (WebOS) product manager and a McKinsey consultant. His current venture, EONIQ, aims to revolutionize how watches are designed and bring custom time pieces to everyone. Utilizing his training and experience in design thinking and need finding, he has been involved in the development of multiple MNC’s innovative products/processes, including but not limited to card based multitasking UI for mobile devices, next generation automotive infotainment system and a car design process.
