"Tribes and Trolls" is looking behind algorithms and programs that influence our lives today. Virtual reality, block chain, bitcoin, psychographics, artificial intelligence, social media, ... where are we standing now and even more important - where are we heading to?

Alexander Bard

Alexander Bard is a Swedish cyber philosopher, futurologist ,and the author of "The Netocrats", "The Global Empire", The Body Machines" and "Syntheism - Creating God in The Internet Age", together with Jan Söderqvist. He also has a background of 25 highly successful years in the international music industry as an entrepreneur, music producer, songwriter, and artist with the bands Army Of Lovers, Vacuum, BWO and Gravitonas. In the 2010s, Alexander Bard has also been highly successful as an edgy and controversial judge on the TV shows "Swedish Idol" and "Sweden's Got Talent" and become a highly sought after public speaker. Alexander Bard has given lectures on the philosophical, sociological and economic implications of the internet revolution since the late 1990s.

Amine Harifi is a previous banker, trader and a financial markets expert in UK holding many degrees in the same field CFA, CFT and an M.B.A. He has global experience in data and information processing in finance and always referred for big companies for consultancy as well as a teaching experience in world known universities. He also created M.I.C.C a consulting company in higher education for coaching and monitoring students who want to study abroad at universities around the world.

Ayoub Fakir

Ayoub Fakir is an investor in cryptocurrencies and an expert on Blockchain Technology, Big Data, Machine Learning, Bitcoin, Ripple, Ethereum & Ripple. He is working as a data engineer for a consulting firm in Paris and is a Big Data and Blockchain trainer for many corporations across Europe and Asia. He is also a researcher in the Faculty of Science, in the Paris 12 University, in the LACL Laboratory (Laboratory of Algorithmic, Complexity and Logic). The main field of his study is the Blockchain technology, and how it can relate do some other great technologies like Big Data or Machine Learning.

Dabid Jacoby

IT Security expert
David is a provocative security evangelist who is currently working as Senior Security Researcher for Kaspersky Lab. He is also a technical advisor for different projects including books, movies and start-ups. His day to day job is about improving awareness of the current and future threats and vulnerabilities to which both consumers and large enterprises are exposed and fight cybercrime. David has about 20 years of experience working in the IT security field. This have given him the opportunity to work in many interesting fields such as: Vulnerability and Threat Management, Penetration Testing, Development and Fighting Cybercrime.

Hicham Telmoudi

Hicham Telmoudi is a Moroccan artist musician from Marrakech who is a famous violinist. He followed an academic course until obtaining national diplomas in oriental and classical violin His professional career is very diversified and has enjoyed the international dimension He is currently a violin teacher at the conservatory of Marrakech, regional orchestra conductor and soloist, he is also a brilliant composer and arranger he has won the primacy of participating in the Jazz Festival in Cape Town in South Africa.

Hind Hakki

Hind Hakki is an artist with a wide repertoire where she blends the “Raw power” of Hip-hop, the “Good Vibes” of Reggae, the melancholia & passion of Soul with Moroccan influences. A variety of musicians and artists coming from different backgrounds make their contribution to this sound. Her double nationality and multi-languality (Dutch, Moroccan, French and English) are part of her new sound and repertoire.

He trained, mentored and addressed more than 10 000 entrepreneurs in his efforts to achieve a 100 000 social innovators in Africa by 2020, holding Consultancy, Executive and Advisory Board positions in Global Shapers of the WEF, World Bank, Microsoft, JCI, UNICEF, NYU AD, and Startup Grind of Google F.E. Khalid is a Mobile and Embedded Systems engineer, university professor, 12 times international awardee, Ashoka Changemaker, and World Summit Awards national expert with 20+ press coverage from Wamda, Sky News, GulfTimes, BNP Paribas and others.

Mehdi El Ghaly

Storyteller
Born in Marrakech Morocco, I have been surrounded by the ART OF MOROCCAN STORYTELLING from a very young age which has been my gateway from life as we know it and at the same time an education that shaped me into what I am about today. Now, I am a storyteller myself sharing my culture and the values I grow up learning from Moroccan Storytelling. My Journey goes on with the performances and workshops I do which transmit the passion I have for my Moroccan Culture. We share, we connect & in the end, we inspire one another and that’s what Moroccan Storytelling is about, bringing people together for the sake of becoming one.

Nada Bennani

student
Nada Bennani is the student who won this year’s Student Contest for TEDxMarrakesh. She was born in 2002 and is already a TED-fan, she loves performing and is involved in a debate team. Nana is studying in the American school of Fes and enjoys going to debate tournaments as well as individual events such as oratory performances. She will be doing a speech on the theme Tribes and Trolls from her angle.

As a corporate consulter, she focusses on transformation- and innovation management with a core competency in marketing strategies. Regina Mehler has more than 20 years of experience as a marketing executive in IT companies such as Siebel, Software AG and Adobe where she lead innovative marketing and change management. She functions as a member of the supervisory board of an IT enterprise and is part of the advisory board of the Europe wide marketing network CMO Council. Regina Mehler also is member of board of the Deutscher Gründerverband and Academic Advisor at the University of St. Gallen.

Richard Gutjahr

Journalist
Richard Gutjahr works as a freelance reporter and presenter for German Radio & Television (ARD). He also writes for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Rheinische Post and Tagesspiegel and has had his own weekly column in Münchner Abendzeitung. Richard has been awarded the Ernst-Schneider-Preis for outstanding business journalism and in 2011 Zeit Online named him Net Journalist of the Year, and Medium Magazin named him Newcomer Journalist of the Year. In 2013 he received a personal award from Grimme-Institut who stated that “… our democratic society has benefited from his analysis, as well as from the impulses coming from the projects he initiated.” He has initiated projects like an open data platform called LobbyPlag aimed at uncovering lobbying influences in the legislative process. As a member of the Open Data City team Richard was also honored with the World Summit Award of the United Nations in 2013.

Sohaila Ouffata is Director of BMW iVentures Europe. In her role she invests in cutting-edge solutions focusing on BMW’s current and future business in the technology and customer & service space. The current portfolio of BMW i Ventures includes among others companies like Zendrive, Chargepoint, Carbon, Moovit and JustPark. Sohaila was always dedicated to innovation and new business models. Before joining the BMW Group Sohaila worked as a Senior Innovation & New Business Manager within the Telecommunications and Media industry. Within these roles she launched over the last ten years successfully several digital products & services.

Tamara Littleton

CEO The Social Element
Tamara is the CEO and founder of The Social Element that is operating in 45 countries, with a team of 350. The agency supports brands with social media strategy, content, insights, and social customer engagement. When she was running the online webmaster team for BBC Online, several years ago, her love of online communities was fuelled. She saw the future in social media, and wanted to bring BBC quality to big brands’ communities. So in 2002 she turned her passion into a business and founded The Social Element. Online safety is another passion. She was a member of the Home Office Sub Committee advising the British Government on communities’ moderation to help safeguard children and continues to protect virtual spaces for well-known children's brands. It was her experiences in managing communities that led to Tamara co-founding another business, Polpeo, in 2013.

The Storyteller Mehdi El Ghaly

The Storyteller Mehdi EL Ghaly was born in Marrakesh, from a very young age he was surround by the art of Moroccan Storytelling. The latter was the education that shaped him into what he is about today. Now, his journey continues as he shares his culture's values and morals through his performances, art residences and workshops. In his own words: "We share, we connect and in the end we inspire one another and that's what Moroccan Storytelling is about, bringing people together for the sake of becoming one.”

Vanessa Arelle

Vanessa Arelle is a strategic advisor, producer, tech startup investor and social entrepreneur. In 2016 she founded the social enterprise Teenzapp which will launch later in 2017. She is a contributor for Vogue Mexico and Vogue Latin America and has acted as Head of Cultural Affairs for Mexico in the UK, from 2011 to 2015, supporting programs in art, culture, and heritage. In 2015 she was involved in brokering the sale of Ilioss Mexico to Solar City now Tesla Solar in a merger that opened Solar City’s first International expansion. Vanessa has been actively involved in philanthropic, fundraising and social development projects and sits on various boards including: Fashion Revolution as a member of the Global Advisory Committee, the Advisory Board of London Business School's Out in Business Club, and actively collaborates as a special advisor with Six Degrees Citizen Space and The Common Action Forum.

Yasmina Olfi

Tangiers native with Marrakechi origins, Yasmina Olfi is the woman behind the famous blog “Fashion Mintea” in which she shares her inspiring life to the greatest pleasure of her growing number of followers. She is one of the major Moroccan influencers with a tribe of almost 100.000 fans on Instagram and 20.000 followers on Facebook. She has worked in the fashion world for Vogue in Paris and she also has a Masters in International Business and Management.
