TEDxYouth@BIBSShunyi is hosted by the Beanstalk International Bilingual School MSHS Student Council and is organized by Mike Qian and Shreedhar Mudigonda.

The speakers are students, teachers, and academicians from various schools and universities in the city. We encourage all members of our community (who is interested) to come and attend our TEDx event.

Gerald Wayne Anthony

Learning Support and Counselling Specialist

Dr. Gerald Anthony comes to to China with over 15-years experience in counselling coming from the United States. Dr. Anthony has his doctorate degree in Counselling from Columbus University, along with two Master’s of Science with one being in Secondary Education with an emphasis in special education. He has been trained, taught, and worked in various curriculum systems that include American, British, and International Baccalaureate. He has additional working experience that helps his strong university counselling background that includes being certified in various subject areas, working with students and families of all ages, being in charge of large international marketing projects in education, and having served as senior ranking member of admissions in international schools.

I am a high-school senior at CISB who has committed to attend McGill University. I’m a naturalized Canadian citizen who previously attended my first three and a half years of high-school in the United States (New Jersey). I transferred back to CISB (where I used to go to middle school) my second semester senior year to complete my high-school degree. I also attended public schools in Beijing and Vancouver. I am an aspiring entrepreneur, friend, and inspired to share my story. Achievements: 1-Being an immigrant who moved from China to the U.S my freshman year of high-school and eventually moving up the ranks through hard work and reaching out to others to become a student council board member, founder of a business club, and head coach of a team I started out of high-school in my senior year. 2-Salutatorian (second in GPA) of my high-school class (CISB class of 2017) 3-Becoming head editor of a Facebook page with over 2000 followers/likes called Humans of Watchung Hills.

Originally I worked in the media and government in the UK for more than 10 years. I have also set up my own business selling chocolate products. 1-Interviewing the former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. 2-Completing my degree as the top student in my year. 3-Learning Chinese - it's difficult!
