O TEDxIST é um evento organizado por um grupo de alunos do Instituto Superior Técnico, de forma independente, com o apoio do LAGE2 para toda a comunidade do IST e que se realiza todos os anos no campus Taguspark.
O nosso objectivo é transmitir o espírito TED à comunidade da escola e, ao mesmo tempo, atrair membros fora desta que queiram partilhar uma experiência única.
O TEDxIST está em plena sintonia com a missão do TED, “sharing ideas worth spreading”. Acreditamos no poder que as ideias possuem capazes de mudar atitudes, vidas e, em conjunto, o mundo.

TEDxIST is an event which is independently organized by a group students from Instituto Superior Técnico, with support from LAGE2, for the whole IST community. The event is held every year at the Taguspark campus.
Our goal is to transmit the TED spirit to the university's community and, at the same time, attract members from the outside that want to share their unique experience.
TEDxIST is completely in sync with TED's own mission, "sharing ideas worth spreading". We believe that ideas have the power to change attitudes, lives and the world.

Alexandra Gonzalez Leal

President of Cova do Mar Association

Muitos de nós sofrem uma pressão diária que é feita pela sociedade ou por nós próprios, por não acreditarmos que somos capazes de fazer ou atingir algo. Alexandra Gonzalez Leal é a nossa próxima oradora, é Fundadora, Presidente e Coordenadora da Associação Cova do Mar, lidou e lida muito perto com este tipo de depressão psicologia, a que se dá o nome de burnout. Alexandra é um exemplo claro de que não temos de ter medo de mudar de vida drasticamente independentemente daquilo com que idealizamos. Many of us suffer from daily pressure that is caused by society or ourselves, because we do not believe that we are capable of doing or achieving something. Alexandra Gonzalez Leal is our next speaker, she is Founder, President and Coordinator of Cova do Mar Association and she handled very closely with this type of psychology depression, which is called burnout. Alexandra is a clear example that we do not have to be afraid to change life dramatically regardless of what we idealized.

André Loureiro

Student

Está no terceiro ano da licenciatura em economia no ISCTE-IUL, é vice-presidente de Marketing da YA Generation, e é membro da equipa de marketing e comunicação da aceleradora de startups, BGI IUL MIT Portugal. Já fez parte do gabinete de comunicação e multimédia do ISCTE. Para além disto, ainda é músico nas horas vagas! Mas o seu grande objetivo é ter impacto na sociedade e não ser considerado apenas mais um, e o seu lema é: "Puto, mexe-te". He´s in the third year of his degree in economics in ISCTE-IUL, he's vice-president of Marketing in YA Generation and he is a member of the marketing and communication team of BGI IUL MIT Portugal. He has already belonged to the communication and multimedia department of ISCTE, being part of the team "Somos ISCTE" , and was a mentor in youth entrepreneurship events. Besides all that, he is a part-time musician! But his aim is to have an impact on our society and not being just another one, and his motto is: "dude, move".

Professor Catedrático na Faculdade de Motricidade Humana no Departamento de Ciências da Motricidade. Trabalha com crianças há mais de quarenta anos e há uma coisa que o preocupa: o sedentarismo! Como se define a infância nos dias de hoje? Como serão os futuros adultos do nosso país? Professor at the Faculty of Human Motricity in the Department of Motor Science. He has been working with children in over forty years and there's one thing that worries him: the sedentary lifestyle! How do you define childhood today? What will the future adults of our country be like?

Elisabete Jacinto

Off-Roading Pilot

Piloto portuguesa de todo-terreno, Elisabete Jacinto. Participou várias vezes no “Dakar” entre 1998 e 2009 e ganhou vários prémios. É professora de Geografia, autora de manuais escolares, co-autora da BD “Os Portugas no Dakar” e autora do livro “Irina no Master Rali”. Portuguese off-road pilot, Elisabete Jacinto. She participated several times in the ‘Dakar’ competition between 1998 and 2009 and won several awards. She’s a Geography teacher, she wrote school books, she is a co-author of the comic strip ‘Os Portugas no Dakar’ and she is the author of the book ‘Irina no Master Rali’.

Guilherme Duarte

Humorist

Guilherme Duarte tem 33 anos e é engenheiro informático formado no Instituto Superior Técnico. Depois de dois anos como consultor largou tudo para viajar pela Europa em busca dos melhores artistas de rua. Mais tarde, criou o blogue Por Falar Noutra Coisa e começou a trabalhar num estúdio de startups como empreendedor residente. O blogue foi crescendo e em 2016 foi destingido pelo Media Capital como o melhor blogue português. Recentemente, decidiu despedir-se e abraçar a escrita e comédia a tempo inteiro. Co-criou a série de humor Falta de Chá e tem dois livros editados pela Marcador Editora.

Louise Lindblad

AOCS Systems Engineer at Tekever - ‎Valispace UG

Estudou engenharia física e fez mestrado em engenharia aeroespacial no KTH em Estocolmo. Especializou-se em Sistemas de Atitude e Controlo Orbital para satélites e depois acabou por trabalhar como engenheira dessa especialização na OHB Sweden, também em Estocolmo. Atualmente, vive em Lisboa e trabalha como engenheira aeroespacial na Tekever, com softwares de satélites. A Louise foi também a astrónoma que foi na missão da equipa 148 na MDRS. Studied Engineering Physics with a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the KTH in Stockholm. She specialized in Attitude and Orbital Control Systems for satellites and after graduating she worked as an AOCS Engineer at OHB Sweden in Stockholm. Currently, she lives in Lisbon where she is working as an aerospace engineer at Tekever, with satellite software. Louise was also the crew astronomer during the mission of crew 148 at MDRS.

Mario Pinheiro

Professor at IST

Obteve o DEUG (Diplôme d’ Études Universitaires Générales) pela Universidade Blaise Pascal, licenciou-se na Universidade de Paris VII- Jussieu e obteve o Diploma de Estudos Aprofundados ( Diplome d’ Études Approfondies, DEA) pela Universidade de Orsay Paris-XI, e mais tarde doutorou-se em física pelo IST, em colaboração com a Universidade de Orsay Paris-XI. He obtained the DEUG (Licence) from the University Blaise Pascal, the master degree from the Université de Paris VII-Jussieu, and the "Diplome d´Etudes Approfondies" (DEA) from the University of Orsay Paris-XI. Later he received his PhD in Physics from the ‘Instituto Superior Técnico’ in close cooperation with the University of Orsay Paris-XI.

Pedro Pinotes

Olympic Medalist

E o terceiro nome do TEDxIST é Pedro Miguel Pinotes, atleta de natação do Sporting Clube de Portugal. Já participou em diversas competições nacionais, quatro competições mundiais e até nas Olimpíadas em Londres. Para além de ser um atleta de alta competição é também alumni do Instituto Superior Técnico. And the third name of TEDxist is Pedro Miguel Pinotes, swimming athlete of Sporting Clube de Portugal. He has participated in several national competitions, four world competitions and even in the Olympics in London. In addition to being a high-level athlete, he is also an alumni of Instituto Superior Técnico.
