In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Eraina Joy

Singer, songwriter
Eraina Joy is a Colorado Springs based musician who has just released her debut EP, "This is Chaos." The record is composed of three original songs that have been featured on radio stations such as KCMJ, Wutz Hood, and BEACH 105.1 Daytona. Eraina Joy's music is best described as indie-pop with a lyrical emphasis, allowing the song to be unique while simultaneously becoming a part of the listener's story. Kelley Pomis

Managing Director, Teach for America-Colorado
Kelley Pomis was raised in Colorado Springs & calls it home. She graduated from Colorado State University-Fort Collins with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development & Family Studies in 2002. Following graduation she joined Teach For America & moved to North Carolina where she taught for seven years. As a TFA corps member, she taught middle school students with special needs. It was during this same time she met her husband Aaron, who was also a TFA corps member. In 2004 Kelley & Aaron moved to Charlotte, NC where Kelley taught 1st/2nd & 4th/5th grade at a small arts integrated charter school. She was the founding math teacher at KIPP Charlotte before she joined the TFA staff full time in 2009 serving in various roles as a teacher coach. In 2014 she moved back home after 16 years serving as the Managing Director for Teach For America-Colorado Springs. Kelley was recently appointed to serve on the Colorado Springs’ City Council Human Relations Commission.

Lewis Sorvillo

22nd Space Operations Squadron commander, Schriever Air Force Base
Lt. Col. Lewis Sorvillo is the 22d Space Operations Squadron commander at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado. As commander, he is responsible for operational direction of the $6.2 billion Air Force Satellite Control Network and eight worldwide remote tracking stations. He leads 105 military, civilian, and contractor personnel providing scheduling; launch support; orbital analysis; telemetry, tracking and commanding; communications; mission data dissemination; and emergency recovery support for more than 175 operational Department of Defense, national agency, civil and allied spacecraft valued at more than $66 billion. Prior to his current assignment, Lt. Col. Sorvillo was the 56th Communications Squadron commander at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. He enlisted in the Air Force in Jan. 1994 and earned his commission in 2002 following graduation from Officer Training School.

Stacey Burns

Vice President of Business Innovation, BBB Southern Colorado
Stacey Burns is a native of Colorado, living in various regions of the state all of her life, but has spent a majority of her career in Colorado Springs. She is currently the Vice President of Business Innovation at Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado & the Colorado Institute for Social Impact. The CI4SI seeks to educate organizations on the power of the emerging Fourth Sector of the economy using entrepreneurial strategies to solve social issues in our community. She is currently working to increase the understanding & measurement of Social Return on Investment through CI4SI, a process she has been developing since 2009. She is a member of the El Paso County Community Services Block Grant Advisory Board. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & English from CU-Boulder & a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology & Counselor Education from CU-Denver Health Sciences.
