Blair Christie

Blair Christie is the Director of charity Raised Voices. Blair founded the charity in 2013 and works creatively with homeless and vulnerable people in Edinburgh. Raised Voices are currently working on their Edinburgh Fringe play 'Home' and other projects with local and international organisations.

James McGinty

James McGinty is a multi award winning speaker who has been involved in Public Speaking and training for over 25 years. Having recently won the UK and Ireland Humorous Speaking Championship, James is officially Britain’s funniest speaker.

Leah Lockhart

Small Business Owner, Volunteer, and Consultant helping organisations and individuals learn how to use web and social media for engagement, conversation and development. Director and consultant at Relate Lab.

Matluba Khan

Interested in built-environment research particularly on children’s learning environment focusing on behavioural issues. Her research experience includes studies on the outdoor environment of children at primary schools of Bangladesh and urban residential areas. She co-designed and developed a school yard in a Government primary school in Bangladesh engaging the children and the community.

Renee Philippi

Having made numerous moves and life-altering changes, including leaving her native California to relocate in Scotland, Renée is familiar with “restarting”. Her talk explores the pursuit of a life of authenticity, requiring social and cultural restarts—building new beliefs, relationships, and value systems. Renée has a diversity of business experience ranging from running a start-up business in the US to a UK posting with an international corporation. She has a variety of personal interests including public speaking, interpersonal communications, marine conservation, and travel, and she mentors and volunteers in those areas to help others effect change in a meaningful, positive way.

Selina Hales

Selina describes herself on social media as Scottish, mum of two, drummer, Refuweegee founder, lister, baker, pedal biker, coffee loving and opinionated. What this suggests but fails to clarify is that she is a bit of a force of nature. Nominated in 2015 by NESTA as one of the top 15 radicals in the Guardian.

Steven Moffat

A founding player in the e-commerce market developing a brace of companies on his own platform then moving onto the high street with fashion retail, design as well as food and comms sectors. Winner of Entrepreneur of the year, fashion retailer of the year and a slew of other awards Steven took some time out a few years back focusing on historic racing. In September of 2016 an horrific traffic accident left Steven disfigured and adjusting to the loss of an eye.

Tom Walkinshaw

Tom Walkinshaw aims to democratise space. High barriers to entry are a problem in the space industry and everywhere. His technology allows more people to access programmes which can benefit and change lives. He is a thought leader in PocketQube satellite technology which has huge implications for society and everyday life. His company is soon to launch its first satellite and will soon be selling them. He was named as a Forbes Top 10 Entrepreneur to watch.

Tracey Jolliffe

Tracey is a Biomedical Scientist working in an NHS microbiology laboratory, diagnosing viral and bacterial infections. A former veterinary nurse, she has a keen interest in zoonotic and anthropogenic infections. Outside of her work she is involved in various aspects of bat conservation, particularly the care of sick and injured bats, and holds a bat roost visitors licence from Scottish Natural Heritage. She is also an ambassador for the charity “Give A Kidney”, promoting altruistic kidney donation.
